Good Afternoon!

Hmm... One of the Board Interns brought in some fresh-from-the-bakery cookies to rehearsal.  Which he usually does from time to time.  However, this time, the cookies were still warm!  Sugar, peanut butter chip, and chocolate chip.  Soooooo gooood!!!

-Guess I don't need to eat dinner tonight.

;)

DR Jose, great news from the LoC!  It was in the second carton Mark opened.

DR Jane, I love the photo.

When I taught, nothing used to make me madder than for folks who weren't directly involved with my kids to make decisions for them that *I* had to carry out. I thought it was MY job to know what was best for the kids I was teaching.

I started my afternoon viewing with MR. BELVEDERE RINGS THE BELL. This one had Mr. Belvedere involved in an old age home trying to get the residents not to give up on life. Not as funny as the other two in the series, but the ending was truly touching, loads of heart. A fitting end to the series.

Next I put in, for the millionth time, HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE. I noticed that PRISONER OF AZKABAN was on HBO-HD, but I wanted to see the fourth one again, so I put it in and watched the first half.

I'll finish it tonight before I watch MR. AND MRS. SMITH.

I concluded my afternoon with another episode from THE WILD WILD WEST package. My goodness, what an array of famous character actors in this one:

Michael Dunn
Richard Kiel
Norman Fell
Barbara Nichols
Pamela Austin (well, she wasn't really a character actress)
Richard Reeves
Chanin Hale

Just one famous face after another!

Well, I talked to JH and he wants to see shows too, so now the fun begins....Jon's never been to a Broadway show - well, at least ON Broadway, so I'm thinking the night we arrive A CHORUS LINE may be a good intro...I can still get tickets and it would be the night before opening night.  Then Thurs is Drowsy Chaperone....then we could add one or two more shows, wouldn't have to be a musical. We could do Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (I'd love to see Cynthia Nixon) and something else.

Any suggestions?

A quick hello before I get to my bus stop where I shall get my car and go to Walmart to buy a new pillow.  Sheena, Queen of the Jungle ATE mine!  Well, she pulled it all apart.

Dad Gum it, a pillow is a very PERSONAL item and will be hard to replace.

DR Cillaliz - I should be in NYC for part of that week in October.  My plan right now is to do split weeks between here and NYC once the show opens.  *And I'm definitely coming up to see DRs Tomovoz and Colin when they are there in September.
GREAT NEWS INDEED

DP Colin is having a "minor" operation today. He is to have his ear removed - it may assist with sales of his paintings.

He is having a skin cancer (A pigmented basal cell cancer) removed from the top of his ear. He believes a diet of good quality chocolate will help with recovery.  Skin cancer treatment is the "in surgery" for this household this month.

The office got me a really cool digital voice recorder today to use instead of our ancient mini-cassettes (yes Mini - not micro like the rest of the world) anyway, tomorrow I should have the Dragon Naturally Speaking 9 to go with it.  So I can then have the computer do my transcribing  I can't wait!

Everything is addressed and ready to go.  I'm now being told the DVDs may NOT get here by the end of the day, but tomorrow morning - I think you can all imagine my reaction to THAT.  There's still a shot at getting them today, and they'll go out tomorrow whether they get here today or in the morning, but it's a pain in the butt cheeks.

DR Ann.  My thoughts are with you! "Outsiders" have no idea how important "group dynamics" and "office internal structures" are in "survival" for those given the task of educating - no matter the age of the students!

We have just started (last night) watching the complete "The Office". Whilst it is an uncomfortable humour, there is just so much there that can be referenced to our own work situations - even teaching and banking.

I've only seen a few of the episodes before.

DH Richard has been experimenting with similar software.  You'll have to compare notes in NYC.
