I didn't get to watch VERONICA MARS yet. And i don't think i will get to watch it today.  And i don't think i will get to watch LOST either. Here it is on from 7pm-9pm. So it doesn't conflict with MEDIUM. But i don't think i will get home until 9pm. And i will probably just watch AMERICAN IDOL then and record the others.

I need to really focus to watch VERONICA, LOST and MEDIUM.

Here is your question BK:

When was your very first fan letter and who was it from? Do you still have it?

When was the first time you were recognized on the street because of your work in TV. Who was the fan and how did you feel about being recognized at that time?

The first fan letter I can remember was from Nancy Lee, when I was doing Jimmy Shine at LACC in 1970.  I do still have the letter (which came with a drawing) and we became friends and she ended up doing the logos for several of my shows, as well as the main title art for Nudie Musical.  After that, I got several fan letters from my appearance on The Merv Griffin Show in the early 70s and then tons of them from the Dinah and her New Best Friends show.

I can't really remember the first time I was recognized in public, but I know it was after the first couple of Partridge Family episodes aired.  I have always enjoyed people coming up to me.

For those who recall the Sunday meeting I attended, it was with the young woman who won the talent contest that I judged at Sterling's night club.  Part of her winning that contest was performing an act at the club.  So, she met with many recommended directors (including two of my fellow judges and myself).  She just called and told me she would like me to be the one to direct her show, and I've said yes.  It will be happening in early April.  Not much dough involved but I like her and her energy.

Yes, I had trouble with the site when I tried to post a page two dance. I got a connection timeout and kept getting it for about thirty minutes so I gave up and logged off.

My favorite Dickens is certainly Lean's GREAT EXPECTATIONS (no surprise, it's also my favorite Dickens book).

I had planned to watch all the TV shows I had recorded last night along with starting THE HEIRESS on the newly released DVD. But drat it all - the telephone would not stop ringing, and I didn't even get through all four shows, much less any of THE HEIRESS.

I started my afternoon with last night's VERONICA MARS. Good small mystery for Veronica to solve (I certainly was surprised when the guilty party was revealed) and some inching ahead on the Dean O'Dell murder case, too.

Is the dean's wife going to be making a play for Keith? She seemed overly interested in having his stick around last night.

And poor Veronica having to suffer the thoughts of Madison and her involvement with Logan. I was glad Veronica took the high road at the end of the hour.

LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT featured Donna Murphy and Xander Berkeley as an NYC politician suffering with her husband's infidelities and scandals. Good little mystery and a big surprise about who got to walk away clean!

BOSTON LEGAL had a couple of interesting cases (one concerning those religious-based "gay cure" centers) and some funny moments. Oh, lord, here we go with the Denise-is-pregnant storyline as Brad will fight for his rights as a father. All the more reason I hate to see characters who work together get involved romantically. Always muddies the waters. I'm probably in the minority, but I prefer the court cases to all the hanky-panky at the office.

So, I still have SVU to watch before BONES starts tonight. I probably won't get to THE HEIRESS at all today.

I also don't have to worry about CSI: NY competing with MEDIUM and LOST for my attention. Our CBS affiliate isn't showing it. It's North Carolina vs. Duke ACC basketball tonight, and that's what's being shown in prime time here. Supposedly, CSI: NY will be on at 3 a.m. (but not in HD.)

my favourite Dickens:

Little Jimmie who sang  "May the Bird of Paradise Fly Up your Nose".

There was  a man with Great Expectations.

Jimmy is 4'11" tall.

If indeed he is still with us he would be 86.

Jane posted last night;

You might find a hat with a scarf attached, I suggest wearing a second scarf as well.  Don't forget to wrap a scarf around your face and neck.  On really cold days I have one of those things that goes over your head and down your neck.  I used to have a face mask.

I believe this style is called "7-11 Hold-up" Chic

Someone posted:

Now we need a complete unexpurgated Blitzstein THREEPENNY OPERA to compliment it

I suspect they meant complement, with an "e".
I suspect they wish I'd just shut-up.

This might explain some of the morning problems:

Hackers Attack Key Internet Traffic Computers
Quote
Wednesday, February 07, 2007

WASHINGTON —
Hackers briefly overwhelmed at least two of the 13 computers that help manage global computer traffic Tuesday in one of the most significant attacks against the Internet since 2002.

Experts said the unusually powerful attacks, which were also noticed on three more of the 13 "root servers," lasted as long as 12 hours but passed largely unnoticed by most computer users, a testament to the resiliency of the Internet.

"There was what appears to be some form of attack during the night hours here in California and into the morning," said John Crain, chief technical officer for the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. He said the attack was continuing and so was the hunt for its origin.
