Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both uncapped and capped, and now it is time for you to post until the capped cows come home.

Today, my cousin and his wife are coming up from Oregon to visit for Thanksgiving.  They're staying with my sister.  At work, I have to finish the last two evaluations (they're due by Wednesday, so that'll be good) and then I have rehearsal tonight.

Depending on when I finish the evaluations today, I should be able to leave work early and visit with the visiting family before rehearsal.  I don't have to be at rehearsal tomorrow night or Friday, so I'll be able to visit more than one day. :)

Good morning, all! I had a good night of sleep with a final weird dream involving grad school; a large collection of library books on theatre, set and costume design, musical theatre, etc.; Bob Cornella, a friend from grades 1-12 whom I've not seen in 50 years; and the theatre-library program was supervised by my fourth grade teacher Miss Fay.

This morning I have physical therapy, then i must speak to Joshie about an Encores! concern, and get back to work.  He wants Paint Your Wagon finished by Dec. 30.

So, DRs, I need megavibes for employment. I just wrote checks for all of my outstanding bills, and I'm still $400 short.  I can hold off mailing several of them until the middle of December, but I have absolutely nothing left, and the fact that I can do nothing about Christmas, much less food, is a painful reality at this time. I'm not soliciting money and I have no wish to become the HHW charity baby.  I need vibes and prayers that a good steady job rolls down the pike.

It won't happen before January 2, since things are pretty much closed down between Thanksgiving and the New Year.  I thought both of the last two foundation jobs between 2001 and 2014 would keep me working till I died and, instead, it was the jobs that dried up.  I thought the foundation that dropped me in 2011 wanted me back, but once again, after the overtures, they take a lunch break for the rest of the year.

So, that's the state of my life at the moment, and I need a good job. Please send vibes.

I, for one, am supremely p.o.'ed that there's supposed to be snow tomorrow.  Especially the threat of "a lot" of snow.

I never experienced a White Thanksgiving, and it wasn't exactly my hope and dream to start now.  This crap is coming earlier every year now.  Fortunately, I had the presence of mind this past weekend to go out and stock up on sand and salt supplies.  I'll bet there's been a run on it since.  It doesn't take much of a "panic" for all the stores in an area to run out.

DR Ben, thank you so much for sharing this!  Yes, DR Elmore and Richard graduated together from Middletown High School.  Richard's parents graduated from there 30 years prior and Rob graduated from there 40 years after.  We don't know the teacher who's the subject of this story, but it's nice to hear some good news coming out of our school district.

I'm getting myself in gear to go to Kroger, something I'd rather not do the day before the day before Thanksgiving, but it is what it is.  Our guest list for the holiday feast expanded by 2 last night when my sister called to tell me that her son and his significant other will be here.  So, we're at 8 or 9, depending on my Mother (the birthday girl).

Grocery store vibes for DR GINNY.  I went to WalMart for my weekly shopping yesterday and was there about 10 a.m.  It wasn't TOO bad.....and there was a cashier WAITING for someone to come through her line.  So I was very fortunate.  I hope it's the same with you today.

I stopped shopping at my local Kroger store because the parking lot is marked out in a crazy way....and the scene of more accidents than even the post office.

I thank those of you who sent vibes! Please keep them coming and keep my employment in your prayers.  All I want for Christmas is some good steady work for the next year or longer.  I am really grateful to Rob Berman and Joshie for the encores! work and to Susanna Moross Tatjan for her insistence tht the only person to edit her father's music is myself, but I cannot make a living off on the work.

So, enough self-pity for now. I am home from therapy, I biked my three miles, and it's time to tackle some of the work on my table. As soon as I call Joshie.

Thanks, DR JRand!  I have returned and my experience today at Kroger was very much like yours yesterday at WalMart.  I got there about 10:20 - I suspect it will get worse as the day goes on.  And tomorrow - yikes!  I do have to stop there tomorrow to pick up another prescription for Mom, but I can do that at the drive-up window.

Let's hope!

DR Ginny, I think shopping at Kroger's is like shopping at Zabar's, Trader Joe's, or Fairway: if you want to get out of there in sane mental condition, be there as soon as the doors open, know exactly what things you need, grab them, and get out before the old ladies with their shopping carts arrive. They'll kill you for a head of lettuce and those carts are lethal.

DR Elmore, today I WAS an old lady with a shopping cart.  I did have a list, but did a fair amount of backtracking because it was not well-organized.  And, I'm still getting used to the major reorganization of this store that took place while Richard and I were in France.

All in all, it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected.

Talked to Dr. Chew - he says it should be fine - the cap is designed to come off easily until the permanent is put on in two weeks (from today).  My mistake was the licorice - nothing sticky or chewy.  He said to favor the other side, but that's really hard when there's a big hole at the back where he extracted the tooth.

Thanks, DR George!

I've had another round of Paint Your Wagon madness.  Ted Rotal, who did the glorious ochestrations for Brigadoon, was the orchestrator. The full scores for many of the numbers are a mess - tortured, revised, revised again - and while some numbers are accurately copied with occasional copying errors ("How Can I Wait," "I'm On My Way"), several major numbers ("I Still See Elisa," "In Between." "They Call the Wind Maria") have surprising discrepancies between the full scores, the vocal score and the rental orchestra parts.

I'm beginning to wonder if Loewe, Lerner, and music director Franz Allers mutually decided that Mr Royal would not be hired for My Fair Lady.

DR Jeanne's New Dental Adventure:

The dentist started by telling me that today's visit was the "easy" one and it's the next one that'll be the difficult, two-hour one. So what did this "easy" dental visit (I suggest there is no such thing) consist of? One hour and 15 minutes in the chair. He said he'd prefer to do the drilling without an anesthetic, so I consented, as I suspect it's the anesthetic that leaves you feeling so knocked out. Then three different individuals each took impressions. If this was "easy" I'm wondering what the difficult visit will be like.

We agreed we shouldn't do the next visit just before the holidays in case there's a problem and I need to reach him. We'll do it in January.

Bruce, one of the dental staff was showing me a nifty little model of a set of teeth. It's designed to show what a veneer is, a crown, an implant, etc. It's life-size and can be taken apart. I wish you could see one. I've never seen a model like this before, but it's great for educating patients.

Hope to be able to read it.  Will it available on-line?  Was it a radio interview?

DR Jeanne - I'm glad that you like your dentist. But if my dentist told me he would be drilling without anesthetic, I would have to find a new dentist.

He gave me the choice, and I knew that if it was too much I could stop him and he'd numb me. But getting numbed isn't much fun, either, is it? I've had some drilling done before without an anesthetic and actually prefer it. IT DEPENDS, OF COURSE, ON WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE!

BROADCHURCH arrived today.

LOVED the British original. Hate the American re-make.

I can't say that I hated the American re-make because I only watched the first episode and wasn't interested is seeing the rest. ::)

I've never had a drilling done WITHOUT anesthetic.  I guess I'm fortunate in that it doesn't adversely affect me.  I can't imagine not having the anesthetic and I don't want to! :o

I spoke with DR Kate.  Her husband went back to their house and shoveled the area near the second entrance.  They plan to go home tomorrow.

That sounds encouraging!  Hopefully there isn't any damage!

I like BONES, too. I love stories about smart, geeky people. I think the BONES writers, cast, and crew have all done a very good job of keeping the show consistent. No major cast changes, no veering off into something completely different.

It's available on Netflix streaming. too.

I just finished doing my evaluations for my staff.  Whew!  I will be able to listen to the CD again tomorrow and revel in the beauty of Sandy's voice and think about what to write without having to think about my work while I'm working. :D

I didn't get a lot of sleep last night--predictably. But I have tomorrow free to do as I wish. NO going anywhere near a Trader Joe's or other popular food store. I may catch up a bit on things at home--LOTS of that to do--or I may go out for some Mexican food.

Whatever you do tomorrow, DR Jeanne, I hope it makes up for today's ordeal.

The cap has come uncapped three times today.  I think I have to go in tomorrow morning and have something done - maybe a new tighter temporary.  I can't even think about chewing ANYTHING on that side right now, and to have to deal with Thanksgiving dinner that way, not to mention the Kritzerland show, well, no.

DR Jeanne - I'm glad that you like your dentist. But if my dentist told me he would be drilling without anesthetic, I would have to find a new dentist.

When Bryan was a baby I was concerned about a possible reaction to an anesthetic, I isisted the dentist drill without using anything.  He said he would never agree to do that again.
