Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland 55, and now it is time for you to post until the Kritzerland 55 cows come home.

Good morning, all!  I detest Daylight Savings Time. I had a terrible night of sleep, and it will be another week before my sleeping patterns are steady. I hate it.

Today, I have errands: post office, apartment cleaning, and a day to myself.

Monday morning greetings!  I woke up at my usual 7am and, due to DST, it was still dark so I went back to sleep - until almost 9.  That's very late for me, but I feel quite refreshed.

Tonight is our pre-booksale AAUW meeting, which is a soup supper.  I have chili in the crockpot, 2 others are making soups, and several members are bringing other sides like veggies, fruit, and desserts.  We usually have this event at the booksale site, but it's smaller than past venues and our membership has grown, so we're having the soup supper and business meeting at a nearby church.  The sale site will be open before and after for members to get the "lay of the land" before Thursday's opening and to do early shopping (a member perk).

I think that Washington should have year-round Daylight Savings Time

I agree, however, you know it will be the other way around.

Two time zones for the entire country is interesting.  Would that be 2 or 3 hours between them?  I'm not sure that would work for those living in the time zones that were changed.

I recently sent a letter to the artistic director of the company in which I am the "resident" musical director resigning my title.  These young, childish people feel the best way to run a company is hire their friends to work for them, choose new and "edgy" plays/musicals (and get their friends to be cast in them) and brush aside those who have been loyal to them for 20 years.

Just sayin'...

I'm up, I'm up after a horrible night of no sleep - maybe, MAYBE I got four hours somewhere - but I had a terrible allergy attack and the Claritin didn't work, which is unusual, so I finally at four-thirty took some Ny-Quil and Afrin, but my nose kept running and I just could not sleep.  The phone rang at 6:45, some 800 number thing, so I will track down that company because they are NOT allowed to call before seven in the morning.

There would only be one hour between the two.  This is the article that I read:

The Cloverdale Clovers.....won their sectional and will be part of the Sweet 16 in the regionals in Class AA Basketball this Saturday.

It doesn't mean much to anyone outside of Indiana.....and it's not like it was when all schools competed against all schools without regard for enrollment....but it's still exciting.

Cloverdale in the 50's and 60's was almost always in the Sweet Sixteen teams in the state to compete.....they will be playing an Indianapolis High School, Crispus Attucks, which has won its regional many years in a row.

So.....good luck to the Clovers - a little town where my cousins live.

On Saturday I saw an off-Broadway show called "Application Pending."  It is a one-woman show starring Christina Bianco, who plays a couple of dozen characters (well, voices).  She's very good (and actually has some great youtube videos where she impersonates lots of vocalists) but the show itself wasn't.

I also saw "The Audience," with Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II.  It's about the meeting she has every Tuesday with the Prime Minister.  Dame Helen was really wonderful.

It featured Judith Ivey as Margaret Thatcher (very funny).   Surprisingly, Tony Blair makes only a brief appearance.    And there are corgis in the house!

I went to the TKTS and pondered what show to see.  I finally decided on "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time," but when I got to the ticket seller I was told there were no tickets left.   I waited a while and decided to see "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder" again and was told the same thing when I got to the ticket seller!

So I decided to go to the theatre for a seat in the balcony (since I had already seen the show).  The show was sold out but standing room tickets were available for $27, so I got one.    The house manager told the standees that we could move to an open seat at intermission.  Luckily I was able to do so.

I just love the show.  While I did prefer Bryce Pinkham as Monty Navarro, the replacement is very good.   And Jefferson Mays is hilarious.

Then it was time to go to 54 Below for the Mack and Mabel concert.  It was really terrific.  Mr. Barrett sang "Movies Were Movies" and "I Won't Send Roses" wonderfully.   Emily Skinner did "Time Heals Everything."  Lee Roy Reams,  Sean McDermott and Beth Leavel also sang, but I don't remember the names of the songs.  Everyone did a great job.

Jane do you have any thoughts about where you are planning to move?

Nothing concrete, we just go round and round on it.  I want to go back to California but with the difference in the cost of real estate & taxes, it isn't going to happen.

It is really hard to imagine moving from here so if the house doesn't sell we will simply continue to enjoy it, even more after the purging.

As soon as the return lands, I'm buying a new computer.

Me, too.  I just need to do my taxes.

Me, three. I just got my last document from the accountant. Maybe I can get started this weekend.

It was over 60 degrees today in DC!

That's warmer than it was here in San Antonio today. But the rest of the week is supposed to brings highs of over 70 degrees.

Looking forward to the mail.

Vixmom, I agree with you about it being nice that it was lighter at the end of the day.

Except it's been raining here so much that it was still merely gray. Just not pitch black.

I have accomplished everything I set out to do today :)

I would have liked to review "The Boys in the Boat" a bit longer to prepare for my discussion tomorrow.  I read it awhile ago.  I'm sure as we talk about it my memory will return, it usually does.

The doctor today was pleased with the weight loss (25 pounds so far), but the nasty little cholesterol reading was nowhere near where it should be. I may eat vegetables three-quarters of the time, but it's apparently time to eat more of them.

DR TCB I am insecure enough to think if I said "No" once, they would stop asking.

Believe me, Jack, with your talent you would never have to worry about that.

Watching the Carol Burnett-Tracy Ullman version of Once Upon a Mattress. I had heard it was lousy, and it is, but the cast is surprisingly good. There's a lot to like, but the direction and choreography are both too soft.

TCB (and anyone else who might be interested), did you know that Titanic Chamber Revival Will Sail to Los Angeles (http://www.playbill.com/news/article/titanic-chamber-revival-will-sail-to-los-angeles-343746)?

Thank you, George.  I flew to New York just to see the first performance of the show with Larry's girlfriend Vicky Clark, but I doubt I will fly to L. A. for the revival.  But I do love the score.

I remember the year that I got to carry the cross round the track at the outdoor Sunrise Service.  At the time, Jeff Smith (later the Frugal Gourmet) was still a Methodist minister.  He was, I believe, the chaplain for the University of Puget Sound.

I'm now going to leave work.  It's very early for me.  I have rehearsal tonight, and I don't have to get there until 8:30, but I want to take a little nap and then work on my lines.  Since I have no other plans, this will give me time to work on memorizing.

Be back later!

Well, we had a pretty good rehearsal.  We worked on act I, scenes 3 and 4.  I'm not in scene 4, and was just waiting around for scene 6, which we were supposed to go through, too, but it was running late.  They decided to let people go if they weren't in scene 4, so I came home.

And speaking of "Glee" and Carol Burnett, she was a guest playing Sue Sylvester's mother.  They sang "The Trolley Song" as a duet.  That was fun. ;D
