DR George, t6hat garde globe is very interesting. I don't think I've ever seen one before.
;)

I found another lawn globe, but the store didn't have a bag it would fit in.

I am horrified by this current sub disaster around the Titanic. I honestly wasn't aware of the 2022 situation, but I have the feeling the company sponsoring these underwater tours will be folding. I hope they can the five people.
Tuesday morning greetings! We are back from a fun weekend in Chicagoland. On Saturday there was a big dual birthday party for Charlotte (age 3) and Hannah (age 1), attended mostly by maternal relatives and us, the paternal grandparents. On Sunday there was a nice Father’s Day brunch before all the maternal relatives headed home. We stayed (in our hotel) until Monday morning.
Goodness Elmore what we’re your plans that required you to be up at that ungodly hour?

I have a lot of in-home projects to get to. I procrastinate, though. It's not that I don't want to do them...it's just that I have a two-part chore -- one part is getting rid of things my mom left that I don't need or want. Once I get that done, I'll have the room/space to get to part two: Organizing the things I do want.
It's a chore I despair over.
I had planned to walk outside today, but the air quality is bad (again).
Continued trip and travel vibes for DR JANE.
I've been going down a rather morbid rabbit hole, reading up on the submersible and what it's like inside, etc., in the best of times when everything's working as planned.
I can't even imagine.
Sad, how bad?
Sad, how bad?
Currently 63, which is considered "moderately" dangerous.
What DR GEORGE purchased is called a gazing ball.
For decades they were made of mirror material and the legend was that gnomes in the garden would become transfixed by their own images and you could trap them and get rid of them.

I read the notes wrong!
I was thinking tomorrow, but yes, tonight is the first performance!
BREAK LEGS VIBES for BK and the Group Rep!
I have started a thriller called Falling by T.J. Newman. It involves a plane crash. I’m glad I waited until today to start it, now that I am planted on the ground.

Now of course they are made of all kinds of materials and are a nice addition to any landscaped area.

Tonight is SHOW NIGHT for BK & Company. ~~~VIBES, VIBES, VIBES~~~
On my way home, I noticed that gas prices were $2.94 a gallon. This morning the price is $3.29.
Jane, how is Keith doing?
I keep coughing since working out.
Fingers crossed I settle down at the theater.
I thought this guy was a shoo-in for the title role in Shostakovich's opera The Nose, until I realized that part of it is an elbow in the background.

:))
DR George, Chevron is always more expensive everywhere because they add their patented fuel detergent Techron to their gas, which does a better job cleaning the carbon out of your engine.
All of this submarine agita today has me thinking about DR TCB and his Titanic obsession.
Yep, I've thought of him a few times since this has been going on.
The worst were the ones that starting calling my dad. They said he could win a sweepstakes, or maybe had already won one. They brought him a DVD player ( that didn’t work), a fake designer watch, and several other things. Then they kept hitting him up for more money. He was old and frail at the time and gave it to them. It was really appalling. I tried to find out who they were, but they knew how to protect themselves.

While far from good, not scarey bad.

I used to have a radio show on the local college community radio station (you didn't need to be a student), so a few times that I'd pick up the call knowing it was spam, the first thing I'd say (and loudly) was, "Hello, you're on the air!"
Click! ;D
Got a nice surprise notice via email - just a little irritation involving CD Baby that has apparently been solved.
Welcome home to John G.
Will you be wearing your colorful new shirts to work? Guess where I’ve been the last few weeks!
Mom fell for a scam call that was supposedly from one of her grandsons. She sent off $1,500.
Dad fell for a similar scam a few years later. He was already suffering from dementia. The CVS manager recognized something fishy when Dad was in such a hurry to get $3,000 in cash cards. So, no money was sent that time.

I think if you patronize a Hawaiian restaurant wearing a Hawaiian shirt, you should get a discount.Great idea ;D

Right out of the oven
I am now in episode two of Wives and Daughters. It’s quite close to the novel. At least so far.
Some of these scammers are just awful. There’s one who has called me several times, purporting to be from my doctor’s office. “How are your knees doing?” he asks. I’ve never had trouble with my knees so I knew he was a scammer.

Yesterday was Mammogram Day. Oh, joy. Never a pleasure. Not far into it I had to ask if I could sit down for a few minutes. The technician was very understanding and told me that some patients faint. (I didn’t faint.) After that I was OK. It was negative, as I expected.
I stopped at my favorite food store on the was home and they had several of my favorite treats. I bought the strawberry mousse (sooo good!) and one of their mini apple pies. Everyone deserves a treat after a mammogram.
Men don’t know what they’re missing!
She sent more than $65,000! :(

They went to work on my mother in law a couple weeks ago on Facebook. Fake profile of her nephew asks if she’s applied for the special grant the Canadian govt is giving to seniors. Tells her she needs to talk to this other guy who starts instant messaging her, pressuring her for information. She luckily doesn’t give them any info and tells them to contact her daughter (my wife). That was good except she gave them my wife’s email and phone number!
She sent more than $65,000! :(
OMG that is horrible.

Ron, I know how difficult it is to go through one’s parents’ things. I recommend not trying to do it all at once, but break it down into pieces and just do a little at a time. I find sorting through old things tedious at best, even without the memories. It’s easier fo me if I know of someone or some place who would use or appreciate the items.

I know. She asked my mom to "contribute" and they'd split the winnings, but my mom wouldn't...of course. My mom also tried to convince the woman that it was a scam, but she wasn't convinced until she was ready to be convinced.
Rehearsal went well....it is a most unusual set & play.
There were some photographs taken, so if any show up, I shall post one here.
Of course the shocking thing about the photographs is how THIN I look.....or maybe it's the opposite.
After dinner we watched Sullivan's Travels.
DR George, this may interest you:
This afternoon, someone rang my doorbell. It was a young man trying to sign folks up for security system and medic alert badges. He works for a company based in Columbia, about 60 miles from Johnston, but he and co-workers were trying to interest Johnstonians.
We were talking about all sorts of things and it turns out he has been in South Carolina only three weeks. He relocated here from Washington State.
I told him I knew a guy in Edgefield (my barber) who had moved from Tumwater. His face lit up and he said he was from Yelm. He then said I would never have heard of it but that it's about 20 miles from Tumwater.
His dad was in the Army and the last post he had was in Washington State, so that's where his family has lived ever since his dad retired.
I thought it odd that I now know three people from Washington State who lived within 20 miles of one another.

What a joy. O, Brother, where art thou?

Interesting. I didn't know people still do sales door to door, or that anyone still opens the door to them ;D
I’m with you, chum.
To quote Madeline Kahn in At Long Last Love
I have a follow-up with the doctor on Thursday.
There wasn’t much pain today.

This is the guy's FB page: https://www.facebook.com/derrick.platt.5
It can be done as long as George extricates himself from whatever damn rabbit hole he's down.
The thermostat is kinda stuck at 82, even though it’s set at 79.
Back from our first performance - a few hiccups but lots o' laughs and I think the audience enjoyed it.
