DR Iris -- I live near the botanical garden, but I go all over for photos. I was at the arboretum near Superior this weekend, where I got some swell pictures.

elmore, all the LIB stuff is in one big box.  I know I have some of the first two albums' charts, but unfortunately in those days it was not organized and some things went missing.  If you want me to look for Come Down from the Tree, and I can get to the box easily, I'll do so later in the week.

Dear Friend BK, that would be great if you could take a look.  I don't know when it's needed but it's for something at Playwright's Horizons in March.  Once I know if you can find the materials, I'll tell Steve and he and Playwrights can handle the shipping and so on.  Thanks.

I did not, I repeat- I did not break any records; my 78's, 45's and LP's are intact.

ONE of the best desserts I had was a big bowl of warm caramel sauce accompanied by a plate of cubes of fudge, cake and shortbread that were meant for dipping in the sauce.  It was gloriously rich-- we're talking hypoglycemic coma.  It is unfortunately no longer on the menu at the restaurant.

DR Laura-- I thought I recognized some of your photos. My office was on Mill Avenue in Tempe, and I would spend quite a bit of time wandering through the Desert Botanical Garden and the zoo on my way home.

I too keep track of my parent's anniversary.

This coming September would have been their 53rd.

If they hadn't gotten divorced a month after their 20th.

DR Elmoore

In the Small House of Uncle Thomas Ballet what percentage of the music would you say was by Trude Riteman?

How much input would you say that Jerome Robbins had in the order of the music of the piece?

Is this a slow newsday here at haineshisway.com?

Jane is MIA.  TCB is MIA.  WFO is MIA.  WEL is MIA.  Who am I leaving out?

I'm only halfway through yesterday's posts.  Very entertaining.  I would have joined in, but I wasn't watching the Oscars last night.  That's only the 4th time I've missed them.  I missed them once when I was in high school and had to work that night, once when I was in Rome and once while I was in Melbourne.  It doesn't sound like I missed anything last night except the party here at HHW.

Michael Shayne-- I really enjoyed "Legends" when I saw it.  It wasn't great, but I liked it for what it was.  I had hoped the play would catch on and that we'd see lots of wonderful people doing it (a la "Love Letters").  Even Larry Hagman talked of doing a version with two men (being bitchy).  The new production being bandied about with Joan Collins and Linda Evans could be interesting.  Will Nolan Miller be doing the gowns, I wonder?

I am agog!  AGOG I tell you at the number of posts from last night!  I’m so glad you all had a nice time with Oscar.  I managed to miss it all but couldn’t miss the reports on the news so I am in the know as to who won what.

I need to have a very serious talk with DR’s PennyO, Jose, Elmore and Ben.  Gentlepeople, I know I said I wanted to see snow but you don’t have to go to such extremes!  I saw the report on the Nor’easter and I only want to say, “Cool it, on the snow already!” .  I’ll be very happy with a few flurries.

DR Jane is going to laugh at me but I am packing both of my coats AND taking my big suitcase with plenty of sweaters and warm shirts!  :D

I am fully booked for the New York trip.  I get in on Thursday afternoon.  I plan on seeing a couple of shows whilst I'm there, as well as doing the signing at the Drama Bookshop and seeing dear PennyO's show.

I do hope I will be seeing a few of you at the signing.  Bring your friends.  We want a full room, oh, yes, we want a full room.  That's Friday, March 17th, between five and seven.

BK, If I can find the place, I shall be there.  I might go see Fiddler On The Roof that night.

Question:  Is it possible to get tickets to Chitty in previews during that weekend?

I got you all beat with packages today.  I received lot's and lot's of things I order.  I even got a scarf for the trip.

Oh, Penny, that's dangerously close to where I'm staying in a few weeks!  Also, nice write-up on theatermania.com!

And since your just across the street from me, DR Ginny, all I can say is your danger is my danger!

Congrats to DR PennyO about the write-up.  I thought it was very good and only makes me want to see your show even more.

Since I got all the major predictions correct in my local newspaper's Oscar contest, I'll find out in a day or two if I win the movie passes. When there's a group of people who get them all right, they put the entries in a hat and draw. Last year, with 100%, I did win third place in the drawing - 12 movie passes. I suspect my luck won't hold out for a second year.

Well, best of luck to you anyway!  I hope you DO win.

hello all ...

.. the word "dessert" certainly grabs my attention (i think i must be the original sweet tooth!) ..

whilst not a dessert as such, i must mention some years ago when i was working for Polygon Theatre Company, we sold "POLYCHOCS!" .. these were created by a member of the company ..

.. they were fresh lychees, filled with fresh ginger and then dipped in chocolate ..

absolutely delicious!!!!  hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

If memory serves correctly, lychees are something like grapes....Am I right?  I think I've had them once.

Your way sounds great!

Danise, This New York soul laughs not at you. For cold days are ahead indeed. But hopefully they will be gone by that weekend. Sweaters are good.

Myself, I shall flee NYC for California this Thursday and hope to miss the nasty coldness they say is coming.

I  had some kind of chocolate soufflé once at the Four Seasons and it was filled with molten chocolate which was nice.  Molten chocolate is the answer to a lot of life's problems, I find.

Well, I said it before, I'll say it again.  I don't do cold.

I have this image of myself standing on a sidewalk in NY, just outside someplace that serves hot coco but I'm frozen to the spot, like the tin man.  Please promise someone will thaw me out if it is that cold.

Still, one should have learning experiences.  Try something new.  Right?  (This is a pep talk, in case your not catching on--feel free to join in.)   Open a new window, so to speak.  See how the other half lives.

Imagine if you didn't do cold, and yet you LIVED HERE. That is me. Luckily my apartment is close to a subway, as is my office, so I can get through winter with minimal time spent outdoors! This winter has not actually been that cold overall.

I shall be in San Jose covering the Pac-10 Women's Basketball Tournament from Friday to Monday, then I will drive down south and do the same for the Men's Tournament. I am hoping for WARMTH.

By the way, for everyone coming in to NYC --

The Saint Patrick's Day Parade is on March 17th, starting at 11a.m. It marches up 5th Avenue from 44th to 86th Street, and has been going strong since 1762.

Of course, if it's freezing out, you can watch it all on TV!
