JRand-
Twas Patrick O'Neal, rather than Dave Niven in WHERE WERE YOU...LIGHTS WENT OUT.  Though earlier last night, I caught thte end of OH MEN, OH WOMEN with The Niv, and that looked pretty bad indeed.  Doris Day gives one of her more restrained performances in LIGHTS, though that might be because she spends a good chunk of the film passed out. LIGHTS also has Steve Allen and Lola Albright.

TIVO-THE PALM BEACH STORY
Currently I’m listening to the sounds of the vacuum cleaner.  Hey, as long as I’m not the one pushing it I won’t complain.  ;D

Joey, my vote is you go vegetarian for Lent.  :)

JMK I agree you should save the envelopes with those stamps-pretty cool.

Media Check:

VCR: Nuttin...unless I get TIGHT SPOT in todays mail!!

CD: EASY TEMPO (60s psychedelic lounge music)

DVD: I am going very international this weekend...

From Japan OROCHI, THE 8 HEADED DRAGON (1994)

From Germany MUNCHHAUSEN (1943)

From China MR. VAMPIRE (1985)

The last two were supplied by a buddy of mine who lives in Seattle...he thought I might enjoy them...and both films do look interesting!

I saw WHERE WERE YOU WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT at Radio City Music Hall during one of my summer visits to the city. I liked it, but I LOVED Day's WITH SIX YOU GET EGGROLL even more, and that turned out to be her last film!

Elmore3003 have you seen the 1905 Wizard of Oz photos (from a stage production) that are on EBay? Very interesting shots and quite good costumes.

No!  I have to look at them.  Can you send me the page, DRMichaelBarnum?

Ron, I’m also amused.  And tonight I’m going to have dinner at Amuse, a restaurant in town our company wants to eat at.

Yes, we have been watching Atlantis & SG-1 but I wouldn’t say we are on the edge of our seats.

My eyes are still bothering me.  When I took Bogie for a routine check up and blood work I found they were very sensitive to the light.  Guess it is a good thing I didn't walk today.

Last episode of MEDICAL INVESTIGATION tonight. They're calling it a season finale, but I suspect the show is not going to be renewed. Its only hope is that NBC canceled THIRD WATCH the other day, and possibly MI could inherit its 9 p.m. slot (where it's being broadcast tonight) next season. The ratings tonight will tell a BIG part of the story. Unfortunately, this last episode is actually part II or a two-part story, so I suspect it's not going to draw in many new viewers once they realize the story actually started last week.

...and then we have 2001's TUM BIN...a very typical Bollywood love triangle film...nothing special I am guessing, but I suspect the cast will be easy on the eyes  ::)

Oh, hey, we never saw a pic of the BKBEAR that vixmom sent to MR BK.  Where is he residing now?  We need pics!

DR RODZINSKI....of course Patrick O'Neal.....don't know what I was thinking. Yes Doris is a big Broadway star who gets into all kinds of trouble and everyone starts wondering where were you when the lights went out!

DRMATTH I enjoyed WITH SIX YOU GET EGGROLL as well!  Mom's hair is in the oven!

Hey, you were in my dream--I think it's you who's stalking me!!    8)

Bizarro is one of our favorites.  The Oregonian just started running it a few weeks ago (we've had the books for years).  There was a hilarious one last week, which will probably not translate well into words.  There's a guy sitting at the kitchen table with another person wrapped up like a Mummy standing behind him.  The Mummy guy is saying "You're not going to get out of it that easily."  Underneath the caption says "At home with Christo and Jean-Claude."  I laughed and laughed.  Whenever Betsy and I see huge debris anywhere, we immediately say, "Look!!  It's a Christo installation."

I am listening to the Swingle Singers doing Bach as I catch up on various work items at the computer.

Last night, I watched the last of the MGM/UA titles I am returning (which, strangely, is a Miramax title), Chocolat.  I did the commentary and bonuses last night, which I had not gotten around to on my first viewing.  What a sweet little film that is.  Does anyone else think Juliette Binoche and Julia Roberts look like sisters?  I think they should do a film together.

Yes and no!
Call me prejudiced but I think Juliette is prettier -- not as SKINNY and gaunt! -- than Julia!

I found CHOCOLAT maudlin and dull; Mr Depp is bored and boring... (My opinion of course! ;))

Boy, no argument there. I have never understood Julia Roberts' appeal. I have enjoyed her in several films, but I don't think she's all that great. Juliet Binoche is a gorgeous woman.

Juliette Binoche always seems "severe" to me....rather like a dominatrix.

Perhaps that's why some of you fancy her so much????

I didn’t notice a resemblance but I recall thinking Lena Olin looked like a younger version of somebody-maybe it was Barbara Hershey.  Doing a quick research I couldn’t find a good photo of Lena Olin and I have to leave for an appointment.
