What color was TPunk's jog?  Green, I think.

Just back from the Farmer's Market, which was like a ghost town.  People must be staying in, basking in their air conditioning.

I would say the jog was more of a bright red, oh wait, that's the color of my face...

The iPod is silver.  They wanted to get me a pink one, but they were sold out.  And I was too impatient to trade it in.

I'd be more interested in reading a bio, so you'll have to tell us how the bok is.

DRJoey, what happened to your avatar?

Well, I don't have a current photo but here you go. The most recent I have is from the marathon. I have to run out and get a few things right now, but I will get an updated avatar in a few hours. I always have troubles getting it to come to the right dimensions though.  :-[

Well, I'm home. What is it with Denver. It was a beautiful day and we still sat on the plane for an hour before we took off. Think I'll avoid Denver in the future if possible.

The rest of the trip home was uneventful except driving my new car home from the airport. What a fun thing to come home to

Back from laundering. It was extremely hot and nasty in the laundromat today. Poor ventilation...

Well, it wasn't exactly a gift from Disney, it was from my co-workers.  Which I thought was especially nice as they usually only take up collections when someone is getting married or having a baby.

My job at GMHC starts in a week and a half.  I decided to go to California next week for a mini vaca and to work on the Jazz Fest with my friend.  I get to drive a golf cart!

Actually I picked it up on the way to the airport to go to Portland. It's a 2005 Prius. I had a 2003, but the newer models are hatchbacks and get better mileage.  Plus they are a lot sportier. I feel like I went from a nerdy compact car to a sports car. What fun.

I am back from a wonderfully fulfilling trip to NYC. Have much to tell, but won't bore folks with long-winded summaries of all I did and every place I ate, drank, or sat down to get cool out of the stifling NYC summer. But I will mention the things of show biz interest for those who are, well, interested.  :)

As I discussed some lastg week, I am currently reading Sue Grafton's last alphabet book R IS FOR RICHOCHET, and since her next one isn't released until December, I have some Patricia Cornwells lined up if I want to read fiction. I will actually be starting William Mann's biography of John Schlesinger when I finish with the Grafton. I also have UNCLE MAME on tap which has been sitting there patiently waiting to be read. Soon, Dear Patrick, soon!!

The first night's show was MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT. I found it a riot from beginning to end with just enough changes from the film to keep me guessing. Liked the music (but it was no great score certainly), and the production was wonderfully tight, especially considering we had THREE standbys on Thursday night - John Bolton for Tim Curry (simply superb with a much better singing voice than Curry and seemed to my eyes years younger, too), Rosena Hill for Sara Ramirez (my biggest disappointment as I really wanted to see and hear her live; Rosena was in outstanding voice but maybe not quite ready to play with these pros), and James Ludwig for Michael McGrath (singing and acting seemingly on equal terms with his co-stars).

These were the most standbys I've ever seen in a single show in over 40 years of NYC theater-going. Yet, they were up to the challenges for the most part and after a tiny initial disappointment that certain stars weren't going to be seen, I wasn't at all unhappy with the results. The two men in particular did great jobs and the lady was just a tad under them in expertise.

David Hyde Pierce did his usual stuff (great second act show-stopper for him, but he seemed underutilized otherwise) and loved, loved, loved, Alan Tudyk who's replaced Hank Azaria until he returns in November. And when Tudyk stripped off his shirt as Lancelot, that upper body definition was certainly the equal of Azaria's that I've seen in other work.

Loved Chrisopher Sieber, too. It's the best I've ever seen him on stage.

So, a very fun, very silly show that had nothing on its mind but a good, goofy time. I certainly had that.

Perhaps... there's... something you don't know...  mwahahahahahaha.

I know this will sound very corny, but I suddenly got a craving for corn.  Yes, Virginia, I got a craving for corn, so I bought me some ears of corn - two white, one yellow.  What is the difference betwixt them?  I'm boiling water now - I've been told to insert the corn into the boiling water for six count them six minutes.  Does that sound right?

A friend is loaning me ALEXANDER (the theatrical cut) next week, so I'll weigh in with my opinions later. Of Stone's films, I did respect his direction in JFK, and ON ANY SUNDAY is a great reference DVD to show off sound and picture on a home theater system.

Good afternoon, fellow Dear Readers.

We had a "rehearsal" today, trying out the sound system and instruments and such. That's our story.  It went pretty well, with just a few technical things to attend to. A lovely dinner afterwards was enjoyed by all. Then all was tidied up and now I'm home. So I was at church from 7:30 to 2:30.

I'll be back later.

I know a disembodied body speaking from a burning bush has worked int he past. Maybe that was considered tacky for speaker placement.
