Good morning all!  The rain has stopped and the sun is making an appearance!  Yay!  Thank you all for your sunshine vibes...they appear to have worked.
The baby pics are SO cute!  Both babies are simply adorable.  Pet pics are cute too.  I have a few very cute ones of my own baby, a rat named Shy.  But some people are scared of them, so I won't post them.  :D

And thanks to bk, I now have 'There is nothing like a dame" running through my head.  Good ol' South Pacific...I think I shall go to the beach and sing Bali Hai to the tourists.

td to the rescue!  He posted a lovely thing at the hometheaterforum, vindicating yours truly.

Soon the Dish People will arrive - sometime between one and five (love those time spreads, don't we?).

Shy is a cute name.  What color is he/she?  I would enjoy the picture.

Happy sunshine. :)

Of course you can't actually SEE my house in these photos, since I am standing in front of it.  Here's the southerly view - a beautiful but windy day in the neighborhood.

I saw "The Return of the King" last night.

I get fahrklempt just thinking about it.

Sean Astin deserves an Oscar.  An emotional tour-de-force performance if ever there was one!

Contrary to other comments made about its length, I thought it was magnificent and moved rapidly.  There wasn't one "fucking epic battle"* too many for me!

During the film's final hour, I spent a considerable amount of time wiping away tears and sniffling.

Heaven knows what Peter Jackson will add in his expanded DVD version of this last film -- but I can hardly wait!

Every day when I leave for work I stop and smell the roses, which line my front path.

I want to go!!  We have to wait until Keith and sit through the movie without coughing.  It is very frustrating.

It is gorgeous here.  The snow has stopped falling & the skies are blue today, but yesterday Echo was so cute running through he snow covered fields.  When we returned from our hike Keith commented she looked like Dr. Zhivago’s dog.  Off for today’s hike.  :)

Well, td came to the rescue and they pulled his post.  Can we say IMMATURE?  Can we say CHILDISH?  No one can disagree with the idiot boy who runs that site - he cannot be shown to have been wrong.  He, of course, WAS wrong, but is obviously too stupid or too much a baby to admit it.  Oh, well.  It is clearly clear.

Minx is 100% purebred Siberian Husky.
The photo is one of her in the summer, when we get her coat trimmed; Huskies tend to not do well in the Pittsburghian summers; but, Minx will be turning THIRTEEN in a few short days. . .she's well-fe, well-cared for and exercizes daily.

And it was, if I do say so myself, a most excellent post.
It pointed out the wit and wisdom of BK as well as honoring George Fentelstein with a positive remark about his work on the cd of GYPSY.
Yes, we can say CHILDISH and we can even spell IMMATURE!

I'd add some karma to BK, but, I've already exceded my limit on doling it out.

DR td, looks like you and Betty were color coordinated!  :)

KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN was one of the best musicals I ever saw.

DR td, I'd love to read what you originally wrote. Can you recreate your comments?

Dr Ron, glad you and I cried over the final hour. But, I had a feeling I wasn't the only one since I heard LOTS of sniffling around me while I was wiping away my tears.

bk, anxious to hear what you think of your dish and its reception. I've only had one friend who had a dish, and on the nights when weather permitted, the picture was pretty awesome. (Really bad weather seems to have played havoc with his reception, but I understand that doesn't happen in most cases.)

TOTD: I watched tyhe DVD of "Fairy Tale" last night (Peter O'Toole) which I found to be a delight. Has anyone else seen it? I realise that some of the DRs  Identify with having fairies at the bottom of the garden.

I almost feel like I'm with DR Ann in Hawaii today. It's 75 degrees here and cloudless. According to the forecast, we're to have an ice storm next week.

Well, Atilla the Hun has arrived to install the dish.  I hope he knows what he's doing.  As it turns out, we won't need the chimney mount - he says last week's idiot didn't know what he was talking about.

What lovely photographs of Le Neighborhood de Kimmel!

You mean there are OTHER sites on the internet in addition to HHW?

Here is the TKTS booth on that May day!

I merely pointed out that Mr. Kimmel was correct, that Mr. F. (even though he produced one of my favorite cds of 2003 - GYPSY) was *mistaken.*
Words to the effect of "Truth will out," and that I sorely would miss the wit and wisdom of Mr. Kimmel.
I even included the quote from THE DIGITAL BITS http://www.thedigitalbits.com/rumormill.html
which backs up everything BK had said previously on the HTF.
Trust me, it was nothing incinderary - I save that for discussions of the joys and pleasures of THE WICKER MAN - merely a post which simply and non-confrontationally pointed out the error of the forum's ways.
I have since reposted twice - for some reason, for about one half hour, I was not allowed to post, modify or reply on the HTF at all - in two seperate threads.  Maybe I'll be the next banned member.

Never once did I mention that I knew of the childish banning of BK, nor that I even knew BK on a personal basis, and consider him to be a friend, whose opinion(s) I trust.

My question to td: Has Epstein sent you a "warning"?  I just sent him two count them two scathing letters that even our very own Charles Pogue would be proud of.  I've also given him a "warning" - that I will make merciless fun of him and his site and his being a despot whenever and wherever I can.  I haz spoken!

My answer to BK: NO, Mr. Epstein did not send me anything!
The only things I received in my email were the reminder for my CALL-BACK AUDITION on Monday evening, and Ken Hanke's review of CALENDER GIRLS.
What a lovely neighborhood, BK!  And such gorgeous flowers!

We saw a play as well.....Linda Lavin, Michael Learned, and Hal Linden were all very good in this!  Although I have other Wasserstein plays I enjoy more, the SISTERS were fun!
