Hmmm.....I liked the movie....but...oh my, as DRTPUNK wrote, not anyone in there to really like.  Clive and Julia were both very good, and Jude and Natalie were okay.

Lots of London scenery in the movie, DRCP.

Welcome to brand spanking new DR Stephanie!

Wow!  That makes for three brand spanking new DRs in one day!  Is that a record?

TPunk, maybe your comment was made in jest, but perhaps you really are unaware, that, yes, L5Y is indeeed based on JRB's first marriage and there was, in fact, some very ugly legal maneuvering that resulted in the show being pulled and drastically re-written.  More than that I am not allowed to post publicly.   ;D

Re: the movie CLOSER with Jude Law/Clive Owen/Natalie Portman/Julia Roberts.

I liked the movie also.  And yes at times it was hard to like any of the characters (or their actions).  But the thing that struck me the most was how it was filmed.  It was so not the typical movie. It was very obvious it was a play.  The way so much info was missing. And how they filled us in on it. While I was watching it it just felt so much more like a play than a movie.

Re: the musical the last five years.

I saw the show's last performance.  I thought it was great, and I would be so eager to see Jason Robert Brown in the role.  Perhaps it's based on something he experienced himself...

Yeah it was based on his life! (on him and his ex-wife).

Btw, and i'm adding in a comment by DR Jose. I had no idea Julia Murney was going into the WICKED tour!  Wow!

I just wrote my comment before reading this.  I too wasn't sure if DR TPunk was joking. But I think she was serious.  After all I suppose only the musical theatre junkaholics know most of the crap we know! :)

Of course, I really like the Writer's Block, Rewind, and Kritzer Trilogy covers....if PRESSED....I would give Kritzer Time a slight edge.

I liked the covers of GONE WITH THE WIND that use illustrations from the movie.  I liked Jayne Mansfield on the cover of Hollywood Babylong but I don't like Elizabeth Taylor on the cover of Hollywood Babylon II.

Here is a novel & cover I like very much.  8)

This is a pretty cover.

Yes DRJENNIFER, its stage origins showed, but not in a bad way....  And I agree that the fill-in material was most intriguing.  I had heard of the play, but I haven't ever seen it.

Have to shave and shower now, and then be on my way to the theater.  I received word earlier that the one really important little technical prob we've been having has, most likely, been fixed.

Can one of you high-speeders do me one last, quick favor (until the next one, anyway):   I discovered some of the MP3 files I uploaded yesterday were obscenely loud for some unknown reason.  So I have been doing volume control  Could someone just quickly click on all the files under Solo Piano, Pop/Rock and Soundtrack and just get a read on the volume from your end.  You don't need to listen to the whole track.  There will be some volume differences, I can't get around that.  I just want to make sure your tweeters and woofers don't explode (how unseemly).   Thanks!!!

My computer here at work won't let it!  It was fine yesterday (or was it the day before?), but today, I get the message:

George, if you're still there, try again now.  I was in the FTP section and maybe that prevents outside accessing of files.  Thanks.

I wanted to get a haircut but simply couldn't book the time.  I may see if Teddy can squeeze me in tomorrow but I'd say it was doubtful.

Okay, hang on.  I have to log out of my computer for a moment (for work-related reasons).  Be back in a minute.

On the subject of book jackets, I guess among my favorites is James Kirkwood's DIARY OF A MAD PLAYWRIGHT because Kirkwood, Carol Channing and Mary Martin look so happy on the cover, yet there's a glint of craziness in the ladies' insanely happy expressions.  I also really like the cover of George Burn's book GRACIE, a simple heart framing the young Burns and Allen - just one of the most touching covers I've seen, I think.
