Good Evening!

Back from dinner - TGI Friday's. Pretty good food. I went ahead and "splurged" on their $12.99, 3-course special. I figured they were offering downsized portions of the items on the list - appetizer, entree, dessert - but they weren't. Thankfully, Andy was there to help me out. However, I will admit that I had a very hearty meal.

Then we went ahead and caught a movie, "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe". A wonderful movie, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The opening moments brought back many fond memories of when I first read the book back in grade school. I could even picture those line drawings from the books in my head as the story progressed. And I was amazed at just how much of the book and the details I remembered - and how faithful the movie was to the book. I really do hope they continue the series. -In the meantime, I think I'm going to try to read the whole series.

And all the CGI didn't bother me in the least. Very well done. And the voice talent was fun too.

*Andy had never read the books, and wasn't familiar with the story at all... He had a couple of good scares.

BK - Have you tried unplugging and plugging your VCR? There have been a few times when I've had a similar problem after not using my VCR after a long period of time, and that usually seems to reset things.

I actually really liked COURTING ALEX (the new CBS show). I originally thought it was an hour drama (when i decided to watch it). It is really cute. And I like Jenna Elfman, her dad, and her love interest (formerly from ED). She plays an over-worked lawyer. But it's very funny.

MEDIUM is driving me crazy! I missed the opening credits, and I think the father of the boy is played by my old friend Taylor Nichols. It's the moustache that's throwing me off.

DR Jane - No ice packs... And, thankfully, I don't think I'll need them. My back is feeling much better today. Almost back to normal. I'm still being cautious, however. -And I'm gonna cut back on my yoga stretches for now too.

BK have you also tried using a cleaning tape. Whenever my VCR has acted up, I've always done this, and it usually helps.

That might not be true, Vixmom. I was looking at some of the televsion DVDs today that I can't afford to buy, and I saw that there was some flop series (from last season, I believe) that had been released on DVD with a total of six epsiodes. So, anything is possible.

Well, I think it was Taylor. We were rather good friends in the mid-1980s before he landed METROPOLITAN and relocated to Los Angeles. But he looks older now.

DR elmore - Did you catch HBO's "The Mind of the Married Man"? Taylor Nichols starred in that series. -And I believe it's two seasons are available on DVD now.

I find it works for I dub classic soap tapes I borrow... 1980s stuff. Great writing!!

I think the overture to MAME is one of the all-time greats. I will never forget how excited I was sitting in the audience at the Winter Garden and feeling the electricity sizzle through the crowd as that overture was played. One of my great theater memories (and it was interrupted by applause a couple of times).
