La pine, (2 words!) in French slang is something I can't explain on this "family" site, and I know that the notion of it would thrill TCB to pieces! ;)

Well.. I almost went there, but...

One of my most memorable French classes in college was when Mssr. Beck took the time to review the terms for the male and female genitalia.  Quite enlightening.  And if I'm remembering correctly, I believe the male genitalia are feminine gender nouns.  His theory was that the gender was determined by which sex actually owned them.

Well you had quite an open-minded teacher then! Well, yes and no about the gender; it's a... grabbag!! There are so many nouns in French, in the "correct" denomination and the slang one!

It's high on my list as well!

I could be wrong, but I suspect PETER PAN counts as a flop; it closed soon after the NBC broadcast, I believe.  This is all DR Matt H's bailiwick, not mine, but I doubt it paid itself off as a theatre run.  NBC may have helped it clear the books.

I looked it up. It ran 149 performances and closed as a hit, not because of scant business but because the NBC telecast had been agreed upon before the Broadway run. I'm sure their paying for the rights to telecast the show is what allowed it to play those relatively few performances and still close in profit.

As requested here is a photo of yesterday's job fair outfit.  Rodzinski gets credit as stylist.

And yes, my head is cropped. Because I had the loopiest expression on my face which I believe greatly distracts from the outfit! :)

Good Evening!

Well...  THE VIBES WORKED!!!!

They ended up re-running and re-checking some tests they had run previously, and they were able to provide my cousin, Richard, with a diagnosis of colitis.

I'm not sure when he'll be able to leave the hospital, but at least they found the problem, and they didn't have to open him up to find out what it was.  I'm gonna try to stop by tomorrow morning to check in on him.  *I'm just hoping the extra days he had to spend in the hospital due to the delayed diagnosis will all be covered by his insurance.  However, in the meantime...

THANK YOU!!

*I tell you, we should patent those VIBES!!!

Jose, that's:

I have enjoyed all of today's thinly disguised comments about Project Runway.  I reviewed each designer's collection online today and felt myself agreeing with the outcome x10.

Jose, I'm glad the doctors were finally able to diagnose your cousin's illness.  I imagine it must be a relief for everyone to have a name and cause for what has been going wrong.

Finished the write-up on SEESAW and went ahead and also read the one on BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S, too.

I do find it amazing, and always have, that writers like Edward Albee, talented though he undoubted is, would be thought to be good ideas to write musicals. I guess because they're so entertaining, people think they're a piece of cake to write.

Next up in the book, DUDE.

IDOL results - - - - - - -

Even though Bucky is from NC, I couldn't help but feel a little sad that Gedeon was ousted instead of Bucky. Gedeon's styl;e of singing is, of course, much more to my liking than Bucky's gravelly country rock sound. Will's elimination seemed pretty much a foregone conclusion.

I would rather have kept Ayla and let Melissa go, but she'll be gone in a week or two anyway, so it really didn't matter. Kinnik's dismissal was most deserved after this week's disastrous performance.

Thanks for the vibes, vixmom.  Happily, Skip's flu-ish symptoms had disappeared by this morning.   Maybe it was just a 24-hour bug.

It was nice seeing Bo Bice again. The two operations he had during the summer and fall of 2005 seem to have left him very slim, but glad to see him performing his heart out. Always liked that about him.

CSI did a change of pace episode tonight with a reality camera crew following the team around as they investigated their crime. Liked that it strayed a bit from the formula. The reality show footage was widescreen but less resolution than the usual show making it easy to tell what was being filmed for the reality show and what was the actual "live" investigation.

Among the guest stars: Jack Noseworthy.

WITHOUT A TRACE also had a slightly different investigation without their missing persons format.

And ironic that the woman who went missing was played by the same actress who was the villainess in the FIREFLY episode I mentioned having seen earlier today!
