Cil! What's your case??? Are you allowed to tell???
Sure, my client is charged with conspiracy to distribute over 500 grams of a mixture containing methamphetamine or over 50 grams of pure methamphetamine and possession with intent to deliver 500 grams of a mixture containing methamphetamine. Both counts carry a minimum of 10 years, but with the quantities involved, it's more like 20-25 years.
The government claims my client did a hand to hand sale with a snitch under surveillance, had an apartment rented in his name where meth was cut with MSM and then sold (no furniture there, just the stuff for the drugs - oh yeah, and my client's fingerprint on the bag containing drugs) and that he was having people make trips back and forth to california for him to bring in pounds of meth.
Let's just say this is one of those cases that my client is getting his right to a jury trial because he wants a jury trial. I'm not expected to win, which actually makes it more fun for me. I can be creative, go out on a limb and really try to stir things up. I've won some that way and lost some that way. If I win, I'm pulling a rabbit out of my hat. If I lose, well it's what people thought would happen. The pressure is on the government because this is considered a slam dunk for them. There is no pressure on me and I really do have some legitimate things to argue about. Maybe enough to create doubt, not sure....I'll find out in the next couple days.
