JRand, the Cat in the Hat is male.

I know about Rosie O'Donnell's sexual orientation but... hasn't she played the part, and, to my knowledge, isn't she still a woman? :D

I think I'm a little more even tempered today and can watch the heartbreaking BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN to its conclusion (I just couldn't handle that yesterday).

I think I'll put BLONDE VENUS from the Dietrich set to watch. I've had it on laserdisc for a long time, so I'll be anxious to see how they compare.

I think I'd also like to watch the 1969 GOODBYE, MR. CHIPS on laserdisc since there has been talk recently about this musical.

You should see ALL the French chats that have been created dealing with Brokeback Mountain: that movie has moved quite a lot of people the world over! I did not know that a movie could affect so much still in our days and times!

Cil! What's your case??? Are you allowed to tell???

Sure, my client is charged with conspiracy to distribute over 500 grams of a mixture containing methamphetamine or over 50 grams of pure methamphetamine and possession with intent to deliver 500 grams of a mixture containing methamphetamine. Both counts carry a minimum of 10 years, but with the quantities involved, it's more like 20-25 years.

The government claims my client did a hand to hand sale with a snitch under surveillance, had an apartment rented in his name where meth was cut with MSM and then sold (no furniture there, just the stuff for the drugs - oh yeah, and my client's fingerprint on the bag containing drugs) and that he was having people make trips back and forth to california for him to bring in pounds of meth.

Let's just say this is one of those cases that my client is getting his right to a jury trial because he wants a jury trial.  I'm not expected to win, which actually makes it more fun for me.  I can be creative, go out on a limb and really try to stir things up.  I've won some that way and lost some that way.  If I win, I'm pulling a rabbit out of my hat.  If I lose, well it's what people thought would happen.   The pressure is on the government because this is considered a slam dunk for them.   There is no  pressure on me and I really do have some legitimate things to argue about. Maybe enough to create doubt, not sure....I'll find out in the next couple days.

Yes, the sense of unease has abated somewhat.  Part of the sense of unease is of my own making, and I just have to stop doing it.

Tammy had to put herself on tape for some film audition (the people are in NY), so she came here and I did that for her, as well as directing her - she did well, and I think the tape is good.  I'm not sure she's the type they're going to be looking for, but she spoke the lines well and her characterization was good.

I'm now officially starving and am trying to figure out what to eat.

Would love to dance, but I need to watch the Next Food Network Star.  Of course I could be that. I dance and cook at the same time...wouldn't that be a fun new show

;D I saw a clip of Rosie on "Good Morning America," talking about that incident.  She said that Kelli (her wife) advised her not to get off the boat.  Also on the cruise was Malcolm X's eldest daughter, who Rosie knows, and she went and spoke on Rosie's behalf in support of the cruise and (I'm guessing) gay people/parents.

Nice to know about Malcolm X's daughter.  I hope the people listened to her.

Very short staffed tonight and lots to do...  I have two student workers that did not show up for their shifts... Needless to say I am not thrilled...

What a relief!  I discovered 3 business suits that fit me. Now I know I'll be ready for the trial.  Everything has gone casual for day to day businessm so I normally wear a jacket and pants (and shirt and shoes) to court. But I think jurors expect a suit. So tomorrow I shall be suited.

You have a very good point. The work place has gotten very casual. I can wear jeans to work and sometimes I do if I am doing shifting or a lot of lifting but I try to dress nicely.

I’m having soup for dinner, it feels so good.  All day I have been drinking tea, eating watermelon and taking Cold Eeze (zinc lozenges).

While it is never fun to be sick, Tuesday night would have been far more convenient-I have activities the next two days which can’t be cancelled.  For one I need to bake goodies & prepare to host & lead my book discussion group which will meet here on Tuesday morning.  It should be a fun activity not a chore.

In the larger scheme of things this is a minor disappointment, nothing compared to what Cillaliz when through……..still it’s a pain. ;D

SHAKIN' AND BAKIN' - that's the title of the pilot for Cillaliz's cooking and dancing show, the show where disco meets Crisco

Or tango meets mango, for a fruit-themed episode

MOVE YOUR CANS TO THE MUSIC - the show where the contestants do routines while cooking stuff that's been sitting in the cupboard.

Please send good vibes out Arizona way. Our newest church member (one who walked in the first day we opened) was trimming a palm tree and fell out of the tree. He was complaining to the paramedics of back pain -- at least he has feeling.

I've never built or designed a set, but probably with chicken wire and papier-mâché.

I don't mind the papier, it's the mâché that hurts!
