High and Low is my favorite Kurosawa film, and probably one of my top ten of all time. It is perfection - it's long, but feels like it's an hour instead of two-and-a-half. The Criterion is decent, but the Japanese disc, which is anamorphic, is the best (unfortunately, no subs), and the BFI from the UK is excellent (anamorphic and subs) - those are for multi-region players only, of course.
Let us know what you think.
I've been packaging orders all morning, and I'll venture over to the post office around three, I think. Footlight has now reordered the STAGE CD six times in two-and-a-half weeks, and they've sold well over 100 copies online.
