Basement?  What is a Basement?    ;)  Our houses here in the South don't have such a thing.

Oh, BTW, my boss gave me a very cute shirt the other day.  I can honestly say that I am a one of the the grits.

DR Danise, glad you made the reservation.  It's a good way to keep your options open....you never know....and so far I haven't seen anything cheaper for that time period.

I'm toying with going to NYC for my birthday this year. Sort of a happy birthday to me.   I'll be half way to 90 which seems to be a good reason for a trip.  I'm not sure yet....

I'd go for it if you can go.

I didn't see anything cheeper either and now that I've been to the hotel I can honestly say that I liked it.  I even requested that I be given my same room.

I liked the Muse better but for the price.....

Surgery Report, Part Two (not as graphic)

Today, I saw Dr. Ozolin.  He took a new series of x-rays and we discussed the case.  This doctor also thinks that it is possible to replace just the lower half of the artificial hip, but he says that he will need to be prepared, at the time of the surgery, to do it either way.  The doctor says that to be prepared, he will have to order the file from the previous replacement so that he can have all of the replacement parts available.

Fortunately, a lot of the pre-op stuff that the other surgeon wanted done can be bypassed by this surgeon.  For example, donating my own blood for the surgery extends the pre-surgery time out an additional two to three weeks while I donate the blood.  This surgeon uses a procedure that can recycle a lot of my own blood (I didn’t ask), so we can eliminate the need for me to donate, and therefore that waiting period.  So, we should be ready for the surgery in about four weeks, or approximately June 1.

Although this new surgeon is not the good-looking hottie the previous surgeon was, I won’t be dating either one, so I guess I will go with the best.  The doctor’s nurse will call me on Wednesday or Thursday to schedule the exact date and to pick the hospital.

Okay, that is it, I guess.

There will be a quiz later!

I saw a depressing news show last night on the effects that a bird flu pandemic will have on the U.S.

I saw that too, Ron.  Scary stuff!

I had stopped working on it for a while, but now it seems that self-referential musicals are very much "in" - so I started working on it in earnest again.

It is a shame you can't just work on it in New York, but you know best!

elmore: I've had a mac for over a year.  The Dell was jus a backup and it had some stuff on it that I hadn't brought over to the mac - I used it occasionally while lying in bed.  It's no big deal.

Oy!  So many wishes to give out, but I can only remember two:

DRvixmom, I don't think you're ready for the Esther Williams Story yet. or Annette Kellerman.  I hope the pumps work sturdily and the damage is minimal!

DRTCB, it sounds like an ordeal, and I'm only sorry I cannot be nearby to bring you chicken soup from Artie's along with some gossip and to run any errands for you.

I may have done something silly as I know there is a very small chance I can make it to NY this fall but I couldn’t help myself.  I was playing around on some of the travel sites and saw that some hotels are already completely booked up for the time when Jane, Ginny and Cillaliz are going to be in town.  Sooooo I went to the Comfort Inn web site and made a reservation.  I just thought that if things do work out I will have a room.  If not, I’ll cancel the week before and no harm done.

DRDanise, we'll have to plan a trip to the opera!

BK, are we going to have any kind of special Broadway Opening Night party here at HHW tomorrow?  Perhaps we could even get Jose to post from the theater prior to the show!!!

My Dell has died.  It started with the last Windows update, which was, apparently, corrupt and incompatible if you had any printer software from Hewlitt-Packard, which I did, as that was the printer I used to use with the Dell.  It corrupted everything on the computer, basically - couldn't open IE, and couldn't open any other program including Word.  Had I called Microsoft first, I might have been able to save things.  But I was foolish and called Dell, and spent three hours online with some idiot who instead of telling me to call Microsoft, attempted to fix the problem by getting me to reinstall Windows from the CD.  We attempted to do it, and in so doing it removed this block that my computer guy had put on a bad sector of the hard drive, and in so doing caused the hard drive to die a quick and immediate death.

Despite the wasted four hours, I did manage to write five pages, and I may even go for another page or two before the evening is over.

That would work for me but you will have to pick it this time around.  I don't think Michael Ball will be doing another one so soon.   :D

Now, just remember:  I deliberately tried not to give too much information about the two surgeries on my butt!

****BEST OF SURGERY VIBES TO TCB****

DR Danise - Booking a room in NY wasn't "a silly thing" to do! It was a very wise thing.

DD will be going through a small surgical procedure in Hungary on Thursday. Good Vibes will be much appreciated.

TCB-Good Vibes you get the best surgeon possible and all goes well.  Considering what needs to be done I’m surprised the recovery won’t take longer.
