DR Cillaliz - is the group you've been with in Philadelphia the same group that's coming to Cincinnati next year (or is it the next)?

When I turned my cell phone back on yesterday after my meetings ended there was a voice mail message from DR Elmore.  He's here in the town where I live, but couldn't leave a call back number.  If anyone here on the site hears from him today, please tell him that my phone will be ON all day and that DH Richard and I have no plans for this evening.

What a great episode!

The emotions of the plane crash were huge. But nothing prepared me for the final scenes with Aisha Tyler and her brother and Melinda.  That was heartbreaking! :(

During last week's episode, I almost thought that that was what was going to happen (what an unseemly sentence!), but then I forgot about paying attention during the rest of the episode.  And when the moment came in this week's episode, I KNEW it, but was still unprepared! :o

Rodzinski and I attended the Spring Fling for our friend's theater company, the same company producing the ten minute play he directed.  There was a silent auction- I started by bidding on some jewelry and a large collection of DVD's from A&E.  But I ended up focusing my attention on and winning a script of the Grey's Anatomy pilot autographed by the cast.  It also came with a baseball cap commemorating the superbowl show (EBAY?) and the series soundtrack.

Congrats on your chairmanship, DR GINNY!

Thanks, DR JRand.  Interestingly, it emerged yesterday that one of the Tiffin people with whom I will be working very closely over the next year and I were classmates in The University of Michigan School of Library Science more than 30 years ago.  We didn't know each other, because we were in different parts of the program, but it made for some pretty quick bonding yesterday.

Thank you, DR PennyO!  We can make many improvements for next year, such as:

Having the break-out sessions be more interactive

Keeping the keynote speeches shorter, allowing more time for Q&A

Selecting a more appropriate title for the All-Convention Read and telling the discussion leaders not to lecture

DR TPunk - there was a silent auction at the event I attended this weekend, too.  Two of my passengers bid on - and won - a huge basket filled with all kinds of chocolate items.  I offered to help them pay for it, but instead they gave me whatever I wanted as reimbursement for gas.  Fair trade, dontcha think  ;D

How about calling them discussion "facilitators"?  That might give them a hint. ;)

Well, I must be going.  I'm at the house where I'm house-and-cat-sitting and must get to my own house and cat.  And I have some errands to run.  Have a good day, all!

I'm off, too, to get ready for our early Mother's Day celebration and to free up my computer for a photo scanning project that DS Rob and I are going for my aunt.

Bye for now!

Ditto.  I was yelling, "No-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o!" at the TV screen.  I

I'm still upset about it!

Even more upset than the ending of Wednesday's "Lost" or Thursday's "Supernatural."

I'm actually ending up doing a little tax "work" this weekend after all, but it's just to help out a friend with her business tax reporting.

Then, a little dinner party which completely closes off my Birthday week celebration for myself.  :)

Saw TARZAN again the other night.  It certainly moves a lot faster than it did about a week into previews, and with the story moving  along as a better clip, the songs actually felt less burdensome than they did the first time.  It's actually about 20 minutes shorter, although my middle-aged memory keeps me from being able to recount excatly what's been cut.  If only they weren't so intent on getting in under the Tony nomination deadline, this is a show that could use a few more weeks of work and possibly become quite respectable as a family entertainment.

I'm up, I'm up.  I slept long and well - the phone rang at 10:10 and that's when I woke up.  I'm very groggy still, but I really needed the sleep.

Not that our corgis aren't pushy, but Molly can be pretty demanding.
