Just a quick Hi and Bye, Ya'll.

By the time I get the laptop up and running then try to catch up on all the posts since I was on the bus and try to eat my lunch at the same time, it's time to go back to work!

Back from the DMV - wasn't too terrible, about forty-five minutes all told.  I have a temporary until the real deal arrives.  Used the SSA hotline, but it's useless - I think I ordered a new Social Security card, but it's hard to tell.  Guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks.  Spoke to my local post office and they're now alerted to not do a change of address on me and to call me if anyone tries.

Julie Adams: (indicating Donald O'Conner who has somehow been reactivated into the WACS) Well, put him in guest bungalow six until we can figure out what to do with him.

Corporal Bunny (Mamie Van Doren): Uh - oh!

Julie:  Is there something wrong, Corporal.

Bunny:  No'm.  Not yet.  But it's a start!

I wanted a walk today so I drove up to Spirit Mound.  The Sioux thought it was inhabited by little devils, but Lewis and Clark went there anyway....it's a park now. The trail is about 1 1/2 miles.  Funny, I hate to walk in my neighborhood, but will gladly drive 30 miles to walk there.

I had a strange thing happen at Spirit Mound.  I parked in the parking area and started on the trail. Right after I started walking, a red pick-up pulled up and parked.  You can see the parking area from nearly everywhere on the trail, so for some reason I kept an eye out.  I had my camera and was really taking my time on the hike.  I never saw anyone from the truck start on the trail.  I must have been walking for a good 30-40  minutes (I was admiring the birds, flowers etc)

When I got back there was a guy near the pickup.  It didn't seem right so I got right in my car and locked the doors.  He came over to my car so I cracked the window and he said "So, what do you think of your Prius"  so I answered his question and a couple others about the car, but didn't open the window.  As soon as I pulled out of the parking lot. He left.

It's probably nothing, but being in the middle of nowhere and being the only one on the trail it was a bit offputting. The walk itself was great

Being around Paul right now is a trip. He dyed his hair green in New York. Said he was sick of white/gray.   It's faded a bit and this being Iowa where someone well over 50 doesn't normally dye his hair green, everyone is asking if he had problems with the chlorine in a swimming pool. LOL.

I'm still here, DR Vixmom, and wanted to ask how The Vixter's mathathon went?
Thanks for asking, she did really well, with the help of many generous DR's she was able to raise a total of $566.00 (as of 7:45 AM EST today she was planning to try asking a  few more teachers and aides to get her to her goal of $600.00)

I think the teacher was going to release the school totals later this week.
