Tonight is the finale of THE APPRENTICE (9:30pm-11pm). I would imagine that Shawn will win.

Also tonight is the 2 hour series finale of EVERWOOD. :(

Well!  Life is full of surprises.  In the first years I lived in New York, I was friendly with an actor just off the tour of PIRATES OF PENZANCE.  One day I ran into him on Amsterdam Avenue - or the Amsterdam Ave. bus - and he told me he was moving to Los Angeles.  That's over 20 years ago.  In Luke Yankee's memoir of Eileen Heckart, he acknowledged a Dean Regan, who turned out to be my long lost friend!  We are now reconnected through the wonders of the internet, and that's been the nicest thing to happen so far today.  My friend is aging much better than I, I have to say, as you can see from his photo.

Nice to reconnect with long-time (I never say OLD) friends, DR Elmore.  I did a similar thing last week, sending an email to a grad school classmate, but have not heard back from her yet.

I, too, would choose the original Broadway MAN OF LA MANCHA cast with Richard Kiley. I really like the London 2 record set with Keith Michell and Joan Deiner, but to my knowledge, it's never been transferred to CD (it isn't quite the entire play but a goodly chunk of it).

Then, I put in STAR! and listened to the commentary track. Because this was cut and pasted from the remembrances of many of the people both before and behind the camera, I think this is one of the best comentaries ever done for a film. It was ported over from the STAR! laserdisc, but that doesn't make it any less interesting or appropriate.

Why does your OB-GYN leave the room when you get undressed if they are going to look up there anyway?

Evening all!  Sorry, no picture.  I will try again tomorrow.  We were just to busy to do anything and my lunch went by way to fast to even try to have a picture taken.

Truth be told, I'm not sure I want a picture of myself looking like this.

Best of luck to the Vixter to reach her goal.  Sorry I couldn't help more but we just found out that our house insurance is going up big time.  What used to be about a sixty dollar a month payment may be going up to well over a hundred and fifty.  Just another reason why I don't think I will be going to NYC this fall.  Sigh.

Good news that you sold your house, Cillaliz!  Do they still forward mail to you from the old address you do you have a new one?

I'd like the new address (PM'ed to me of course) if you wouldn't mind.

As for the topic of the day.  I'm never good with names but I remember the one movie where this kid sewed marbles into a commanding officer.  Aslo wasn't there a movie (might even be the same one) where they had to paint the ship and it turned out pink?

Oh, you'll never guess what is taking the bus home with me.  A lizard.  And he/she is a fairly big one.

I found him/her on the sidewalk on the way into work.  Lizards don't belong in the city.  Well, at least not downtown.  So I stooped down and picked him/her up and put her/him into a special cup that I have at my desk (this isn't my first lizard rescue).

Soon this city boy/girl will be a county boy/girl.  :)

Well, since the kids are out of school there isn't as much traffic as there used to be.  We're almost to the turn where I have my bus stop.

Have a good evening everyone!

Friday night the Vixter and I went to see a local production of Man of La Mancha.

I was quite impressed with the set and the staging and the acting and the singing...it was very well done indeed.

The Vixter absolutely loved it and has demanded that without delay I procure for her a cast recording of the show

If she enjoyed the show, please don't ruin the moment by letting her see the movie!

I guess I'll head down now and get to work on the dining room cleaning.

Oh, my Bette Davis box did come today, so I'll be watching MARKED WOMAN at some point tonight.

Recently we had a discussion here on HHW about the upcoming DVD release EQUINOX...well, here is a review of the DVD...WOW! Talk about some nifty extras!!!

I may have to get this one...anytime they can locate and interview obscure B-movie performers for a DVD release I am excited...whether I like the movie or not!

I have to usher for a work-sponsored event, so last night I set my VCR.  It should be interesting.  I'd like Lee to win...for no reason whatsoever. ;D

Congratulations!
