DR MBarnum - isn't it fun to take nieces to the theatre?  A few weeks before we were married, Richard and I took his nieces to The Nutcracker at Cincinnati's Music Hall.  Before it was over, one was in my lap and the other was in Richard's.  When the house lights came  up, the lady sitting behind us complimented us on how well-behaved our children were.  We just thanked her.

It is official.  After 14 years and one month I am leaving  for a new place of employment.

I probably won't be here days anymore therefore I will have to make a greater effort to be here in the evenings!

Wow, that is a long time to be at one place and I can only imagine the feelings that you have about moving on.  Congrats on the great new job, and I hope that the transition goes well!

I visited my client in the intensive care ward at the hospital today. He looks great for what he put himself through. He was in good spirits and very happy to see me. He has a trach tube and can't talk real well, but I let him know that I was very glad his attempt failed and that he needs to work on getting better and sticking around.  My investigator visited him in the morning, so my guess is that's the most attention he's had from visitors since he got there.  It was so good to see him grinning from ear to ear.

I'm glad to hear your visit went well.  I was thinking about you and your client today.

Elmore, I'm sorry to hear about your travel troubles.  Making travel plans is always stressful even when it's for fun.  In your case it would have been nice to have an agent with a degree of kindness or understanding.

Thanks TPunk and Ginny.  I was hesitant about going  - I hate hospitals - and I didn't stay long, but walked away knowing that I had done the right thing by visiting. His family has nothing to do with him.  He was so happy to see me that when I walked in the nurse had to say "Calm down now"  I told him we weren't going to talk about his case, that I was there as a friend to tell him I was worried about him and he calmed right down. We had as much as a conversation as you can have with someone not used to a trach tube. When I left he was waving and smiling.  It really warmed my heart.

MBarnum - GREAT PHOTOS

Ginny - I really like the poster...this isn't a criticism, but if I sat on a porch swing that way, I'd be on my butt on the floor in 2 seconds flat!

Thank you all for the kind words.  I will be doing the same thing I do now, closing mortgage loans, and I will also be handling some private clients who are buying /selling.

Now that the stress of telling everyone is past I can finally start get excited about the wonderful new opportunity opening in front of me!

LOL, DR Cillaliz!  I agree, she doesn't look very comfortable, but I'd sure like to have a porch swing and the time to sit in it and read.

Elmore... this truly is reprehensible behavior on the part of US AIR.  have you actually made the changes and committed to these higher fees or or you keeping the original flights and looking to fly last minute for next week?

Sometimes the airlines will reverse charges when you supply them proof of the emergency, I know when my Father in law had a stroke some years back and we had to fly out with no noitce we brought back a letter from the hospital and the airline refunded half of our fares

And here's the poster, designed by a local high school student for the Teen Summer Readin Club.  That skyline is books, which I think is very clever.

Could be, but I just didn't know it.   My clients are definitely the reason I want to stay in my job.  I realized today what some of the office problems are. I'm going to have a discussion with my boss tomorrow and see if one or two fairly big  changes can be made.  It would make a world of differnece. We'll see what happens.

Jose are you SURE you don"t have family in Norwalk CT? HMMMMMMMMMMMM?  Maybe an uncle you completely forgot about that you called 87 times in the past two weeks?

Don't you love these stupid customer service questions? Like you are going to suddenly slap your forehead and say "Oh my yes ! I DID make all those calls! I remember now!"

Must get a good night's sleep in order to be perky when I appear tomorrow before the Library's Board of Trustees.  The director asked me to be there when he asks the Board to approve some modest financial support to a nonprofit capacity-building initiative I'm involved in.  I'm a little nervous, but guess that's what's expected of Grade 12's.

'night.

Our trip was nice and I so enjoyed our time with Craig and Bryan.  It was really hard to say goodbye to Craig.  I wish he would move back to the U.S.A.!!!!!

First we met Craig in San Francisco.  His girlfriend had been sick and completely missed the wedding, along with Craig’s toast to the bride and groom.

From San Francisco we drove to Santa Barbara, first stopping at to meet some Chocolate Labs (while we had a great time playing with the labs we do not have a new dog).  We haven’t been in Santa Barbara in years, such a lovely town.

L.A. was short but sweet.  Basically we just spent time with  the boys, family & extended family.  Of course Keith’s mother loved seeing them.   We all enjoyed the hotel in Santa Monica, walks along the beach & shopping at the 3rd Street Promenade.

Disneyland was loads of fun.  For the first time in years my neck was able to handle the rides & I loved every minute of them.  Craig’s girlfriend doesn’t like roller coasters or anything that drops so Keith occasionally kept her company while the rest of us had fun.

Geez I would need a face lift and body transplant to appear perky these days!!

Grade 12 question... do you get a prom at the end of the year?
