Speaking of which, this in the news section over at IMDB:

Quote
L. Brent Bozell's Parents Television Council, which has spearheaded the campaign against indecent language on television, has demanded that the FCC fine NBC for not censoring the comments by actresses Helen Mirren and Calista Flockhart during Sunday's Primetime Emmy Awards telecast. Both had expressed concerns about falling "tits over ass" as they came up the stairs. Calling the common British colloquialism "vulgar and obscene," Bozell said Thursday, "It is utterly irresponsible and atrocious for NBC to air this vulgar language during the safe harbor time [before 10:00 p.m.] when millions of children were in the viewing audience." The phrase was not bleeped during the live broadcast in the East and Midwest nor on the delayed broadcast in the West. While a common Britishism, it is sometimes abbreviated as TOA in polite company, as in, "I got out of the taxi and fell TOA on the slippery street."

If you ask me, PTC is a bunch of boobies!  I hope their campaign goes bust!

Hmmm... the Chorus Line posters...

Original Cast = tits!

Revival Cast = ass!

That'll fill up anyone's dance card.

Very observant of you!  8)

CONGRATS George, I'm sure things will go fine. It takes a little time to get through the process, but it's worth it in the end.

Greetings from beautiful Tiffin, OH!  Well, I think it's beautiful, but will have to wait until daylight to know for sure.  It took me about an hour longer to get here from work than it should have - Friday night/Labor Day traffic, an unnecessary delay at the counter at Wendy's, etc.

I am communicating here via the wireless connection in my hotel room on the iBook that DH Richard and I purchased earlier this summer.  Very cool!

Is this the same museum that houses the permanent Jerry Lewis Film Festival?

Definitely! AND the French Government even has an option to embaulm Mr Lewis corpse when he passes away and have a permanent display of it on the Place de la Concorde, which would become Place du Funny Man...

Come to think of it, I'd rather have a permanent Jerry Lewis Film Festival (Ask today's French young folks who J.L. is and no one would have a clue!) than a George Bush Film Festival! >:( ;) even though I can't say who of the two men is the funniest! :o

Why, Ginny, you didn't tell us that Tiffin, OH was the home of such gourmet restaurants!

Yes, but yesterday was a technical glitch, an accident.

I vote that yesterday's ATL be given an honorary (or "dishonorary") status, and that we keep as our "official" ATL at...

Uh, what was our previous low again?

LOL, DR TCB, the gourmet restaurant was in Lima, OH - another bustling metropolis!

Gee, I'm so dull that I thought you were.... serious!!

 ;)

I have heard and read so many times that "the French are the ones who find Jerry Lewis funny" that i'm kind of irritated by it, just because one French critic, Mr Benayoun (May he rest in peace!), raved about Mr Lewis and wrote extensively about him over the years!
That's where it all started and of course it has become a cliché in the US that "the French love Jerry Lewis"... meaning... "shows you what they know about comedy!"

Time for me to get dinner on the table.

Nothing fancy, but we've got a fantastic sale on porterhouse steaks going at work, and I couldn't resist.

Baked titters... uh, taters.  And a salad of greens and leftover beets.

But, DR Francois, we ALL know that the French all think exactly alike, never argue, keep in a lockstep with each other at all times!

Right?

You mean, it isn't true?   :o

I watched 60 people become United States citizens today.  I just love watching naturalization ceremonies. It's amazing to see the look in the eyes of people who want to be citizens so bad they go through all the red tape and other bs to do it and then the day arrives. It's a room of such elation. It's so cool

Very inspiring, DR Cillaliz.

I thought of you when I was reading Vanishing Acts today.  One of the characters is an out-of-state attorney trying to make his way through the Maricopa Co, Arizona, courthouse.  Been there?

FJL-good news about your friend. :D  I wish him a speedy recovery.

My friend who had the lung surgery began her first chemo treatment and had a terrible time afterwards.  They will be making adjustments for the next treatment I hope will keep her from suffering so.

Yes. I worked in the Central Court Building when I clerked for Judge Martone, and I had court in both the East and Central Court buildings when I was a public defender.  There is also the Old Court Building  ( or do they call it the Old Courthouse?)  They filmed a movie there while I was in AZ, can't remember the name of it.  But I had a few cases in that building as well.
