That's one good thing about only having a cell phone...I don't get the calls from companies/ organizations/ political persons who call people in the phone book. :)

My favorite definition of love:

Love is a feeling you feel. When you're about to feel a feeling you've never felt before.

Some say love it is a river that drowns the tender reeds.

I say love is a bowl of vanilla ice cream with mocha powder mixed in and I'm about to go get some love!

For those who are going to DROWSY CHAPERONE on Oct 5, from what I've been told, Edward Hibbert should be back as Underling having just completed a short vacation following CURTAINS.  Nothing against Noah Shropshire, but I'm really looking forward to seeing Edward Hibbert in the role.

But think of the deals you'd miss from places like funeral parlors!

You've got a point there, Ginny!

TOD: I have only been in love once; all other times were merely infatuations.

DR George, my washing machine is 26 years old, and even with a model that old , I can control the amount of water I use to wash a load of clothes. Unless a washer is absolute bottom of the line that turns on and off and has a spin cycle, I'll bet a new washer will allow you to control the amount of water for a load of clothes.

And I KNOW my washer is living on borrowed time. Can you believe it's that old and I've never had a second of trouble with it. Of course, now that I've said that, it will explode on SUnday when I do my next load of laundry.

I started my evening of viewing with a MURDER SHE WROTE rerun. From one of the later seasons and a Christmas-themed episode, the mystery was not one of the better ones. Very obvious murderer in this one.

I had not seen either of the GREY'S ANATOMY repeats which aired tonight, and both were marvelous. They were the episodes directly before the season finale (which ABC is airing next Wednesday night in anticipation of the season 3 premiere on Thursday.) Izzy and Denny: oh, I'm sure those of you who watched this relationship play out during the regular season must have been on the edges of your seats for those weeks on end seeing what the writers were going to do with the characters.

For the last hour of the evening, I put in AN EVENING WITH MARLENE DIETRICH, the 1972 taping of her London concert. For fans of Marlene, we are SO lucky to have this souvenir of her concert program in this good condition. Yes, the videotape has some video dropouts and an occasional flutter, but for archival purposes, it looks very nice and a thousand percent better than the grainy videotape I had of the last 20 minutes of the concert. It's even stereo sound (and the sound level was set WAY TOO HIGH).

At this stage of her life, she looked just a bit unsteady (she lost her balance trying to step back and bow after one number), and at one point she seemed disoriented and tottered off the stage for a moment while the cameras just rolled. Still, I'm so happy to have this.

At this point, I'm thinking of having a Marlene weekend, at least in part. There are a couple of films in THE GLAMOR COLLECTION that I haven't gotten to. I have SHANGHAI EXPRESS on laserdisc that I haven't seen in ages. And I might pull out DESTRY RIDES AGAIN, THE SCARLET EMPRESS, or WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION for viewing, too.

So, there's a lot to choose from.

(Just saw JUDGMENT AT NUREMBERG and STAGE FRIGHT not too long ago, so those won't be options.) I do wish I had RANCHO NOTORIOUS. It's always a fun show. I'll make a DVD-R of it the next time it shows up on the Encore Western channel.

"And where did you see our ad?"

"On the back of TV GUIDE."

I must get some sleep. Just saw on the news that there is e coli sickness going around in a number of states, they think it's from the bagged spinach in the grocery store.  Hope that's not what's wrong with Bob
