A second BONES episode introduced us to Temperance's former anthropology professor/love interest who is being courted by a local university to head their department. They find themselves on opposite sides of a murder case involving a skeleton found in a refrigerator. Wonderful episode but another disappointment for Temperance in the love department.

dem bones, dem bones.....

Here is a card we recently received from a local real estate broker.  It's different, I'll grant you....but do any of you think it's "suggestive"?

Hi,  Can't wait to meet you all on Saturday.  I hope everyone goes to Gengis Cohen afterwards!  Bruce is going "great guns" on the show and it is going to be fantastic.  I've just finished the Benjamin Kritzer trilogy which I loved !!  I'll start his book of short stories today.  I can't help thinking how well his childhood biography would translate to film.  I wish I had grown up in those days.  He got to do so much as a child on his own. . .  go to restaurants and movie theatres all over town, take the bus, go to the candy store and delicatessan, the Ocean Pier Park.    He and I had ice cream last week at Fosters freeze and now that I've finished the books we will have to go back so we can have cheeseburgers, the official food of Kritzerland.

My favorite Christmas card was one that talked about the little known 4th Wiseman.  He brought fruit cake.  He was never heard from again.

Speaking for myself, I like fruit cake.

I smell something burning.  I hope it's not the bus.  Not that it would be the first time.  Hartline.  It's not just a bus ride--it's an adventure!

Oh, it was the car in front of us burning oil.

So how is everyone?

Elmore, how is your Dad?

Mom is doing pretty good.  Sheena continues to be a trip.  Bear is being a old bear at times.

Didn't you used to live in Greater Burbank?

(Maybe we should get DC to have rickshaws to accommodate car-sick prone visitors)
No, silly.  I'm the one from Burbank.

Great idea! Since I've done my cleaning of the bedroom areas already today, I have extra time to watch a couple more BONES episodes before SMALLVILLE this evening.

Heading down now to get started.

As we proceed merrily toward the shortest day of the year, I note that the sun is lower in the sky at this time of day than I previously recall it being.

Quick, call me a ferry boat.
Gettin' out of town.

Well, not yet, but it seems like our theme song this weekend.

Has anyone else wondered what would happen if George's production of "Cannibals" met up with BK's production of "The Brain That Wouldn't Die From Planet X"?

The universe would implode! :o

;)

BK's show is having their final dress rehearsal tonight and we're having a pick-up rehearsal.  Who knows what can happen tonight! ;D

This day rather plods along for me.

I've finished up a bunch of stuff, including year-end reports that are due next month.

It's nice to know I don't have anything monstrously involved hanging over my head upon my return from my vacation.

Lots of holiday potluck planning has been going on today.  Menu items are being discussed...folks who've volunteered to bring one thing are being gently persuaded to bring something else.

I love these things.  But this one will do without me.

For anyone over 50:  When you are out in public, for whatever reason, always, always, ALWAYS return things (keys, credit cards, wallets, whatever) to wherever you normally keep them when walking around or shopping.

Especially at this time of year when places are crowded and clerks are rushed...it's easy to get a bit flustered and when you do, you are apt to put something down that you OUGHT TO HAVE put in your wallet, or put something in a pocket that you NEVER USE for anything.

Of course, what I'm getting at is that later on panic will ensue when you can't find your debit card or your key or whatever.

Sigh.

And yes, I left my debit card on the counter at a store last night.

And I got it back this morning.  I am pleased to report that there really are some honest, caring people in this world who will reunite you with things you lose.
