Larry, please note:

It is  now "Kimmy"

I wonder how many pages the errant and truant will wake up to?  I'm hoping twenty-five at least.

LOL - even those of us who just go into another room to watch Garrison Keillor on PBS for a while are amazed to find 4 or 5 new pages when we get back!

FOREIGN CORRENSPONDENT is one of the great Hitchcock thrillers. Very worth of repeat viewing.

I'm watching The Comedians, which is not about comedy.  Good cast, good direction, good script (Grahame Greene), but a LOOOONG movie.

Der Brucer - I think despite the "Kimmy" part of that post you're citing, the author of that post seems to be showing a conciliatory, even respectful, attitude toward Bruce.  But that's just how I'm reading it, I guess.

If YOU could be in ANY play or musical in 2007....what would it be...playing what part?

I finally had had enough of all the line noise spoiling my internet connection and called the telephone repair line. Within a hour there was a repairman at my door telling me he had located the source of the problem and it was cleared.

And this on aa Sunday and New Year's Eve at that! I say terrible things sometimes about the telephone company, but I have to admit that's pretty excellent service.

Anyway, thought I started my viewing with the Blu-ray version of Tim Burton's CORPSE BRIDE. I had a suspicion that animation would look spectacular in a high definition disc, and I wasn't mistaken. So three dimensional, I thought the figures were going to reach out and touch me. Really astounding.

I also watched some of the special features on the disc and some of the voice talent recording their roles. Like Disney does, Warners had each actor record separately, never together.

Next I felt in the mood for action/adventure. I've seen all of the usual suspects (Indy Jones, AIR FORCE ONE, EXECUTIVE DECISION, DANTE'S PEAK), so I plucked LARA CROFT: TOMB RAIDER off the shelf.

One thing that spurred me to pick this is that Daniel Craig was in the cast. I didn't remember much of anything about the film at all apart from the opening fight with the robot, so it was empty-headed fun, and Daniel looked just as stunning in this as he does in CASINO ROYALE. He didn't have to get in shape for that film. He was already in shape when he did LARA CROFT.

I don't have the second LARA CROFT adventure (CRADLE OF LIFE). I saw it on HBO but never bought it on DVD. I can't remember if Daniel's in it or not. I remember Gerard Butler did this after he did PHANTOM.

Considering the material this may NOT be a good thing ;D

I see others have no plans to leave hearth and home, kith and kin on this night of nights for joyous, drunken abandon.

Frankly, I've never understood the fuss.

Another year...OLDER and CLOSER to death.

I watched some of the deleted scenes from the Lara Croft DVD after I finished the main feature. There were lots of other special features, but I didn't bother with any of them tonight. I had other things I wanted to see.

I haz responded to Mr. John Patti (wonder if he's related to Adriana or if that's even his real name).  My repsonse was quite even-keeled and nice.

My New Year's resolution is to be rid of concern about political correctness.

This year, I calls 'em as I sees 'em/hears 'em/feels 'em.

Next, I put in disc 4 of the CSI set. The first episode was the famous one with Faye Dunaway playing a showgirl who finally decides to write a tell-all book and have a party to celebrate its publication. At her party, a man is murdered and someone takes some potshots at her, too.

Good episode punctuated by lots of Sinatra oldies on the soundtrack.
