Since I got no packages today, I'll be watching TOTAL RECALL on Blu-ray when I go back downstairs. Then, I'll continue with either RETURN TO OZ (which we were talking about this week) or INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE, neither of which I have seen in a long time.

Not one of you whippersnappers has sent the requested television vibes and we NEED THEM because I'm now being told that the techician has not been heard from and they're not sure he'll even GET here today.  That would be bad, very very bad.

I am so sorry![move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]

There are only 5 of us in the Oscar Picks on www.oscars.com. Join us, the more the merrier...

I forgot my login name so I had to have it e-mailed to me.  Now, I'm supposed to enter a nickname and I don't think it's working!  It looks like it's taking a LLOOOONNGGG time to get to the next screen, which usually means that it's not going to work. :P

But I'm tryin'. :-\

Just checked out a few things I'd TIVOd during the time the bulb had burned out, including Pepe, which doens't look quite as good on a big screen as on a small screen - and I hate that it's the short version - there are many nice things cut, including Judy Garland's Faraway Part Of Town, which has a lovely Shirley Jones dance by Eugene Loring.

Now I have to decide on what movie it will be for this evening.  I have lots of stuff I haven't watched, so it really could be anything at all.

I'll probably try to write another page or two, since I most likely won't get much done in that regard tomorrow.

I predict yes (and this is not an Oscar prediction!)

LOL, I can't believe how hard it's snowing. We were supposed to have 1 inch all day with lots more over night, we've gotten an inch in the last hour!  If this keeps up it will be a doozie!

BK, I watched it yesterday, and "The Faraway Part of Town" song and Jones dance is on there.

I need to wake up der Brucer from his nappy.  Otherwise, we'll never get to the store to pick up whatever I need to fix dinner, and I'll also not find out what my work schedule is for next week.

Hmmm, I thought Faraway was one of the things they cut - strange.  I love that moment in the film, though, and I like Mr. Loring's very Robbins-like Rumble.

I'm in the Oscar pool as DM. All my predictions are guesses, except for the acting categories and best director.

That is all.

We just got a CD of pictures from our Nottingham friends. We are going to look at those right now.

Later, gaters.

Listening to the second of this batch of Oscar promo CDs I got last night - Thomas Newman's The Good German - which was, I suppose, temp-tracked with a bunch of Herrmann, Steiner (the opening is pure Casablanca), and like that, and Mr. Newman does a fine job imitating them.

Prior to that I listened to James Horner's score to All The King's Men - his usual work - reminiscent of many of his other scores, but not a bad listening experience.

I'm kind of tired - perhaps I'll put on the TIVO of The Slender Thread after I'm done with another page.  That should put me to sleep very quickly.  I can't remember exactly what year it came out, either 1965 or 1966 - well, wait, I can find out right now -
