DR Ron Pulliam -
Please let us know how you made out with dealt with the meddlesome co-worker!
Well now....it's been rather quiet on that "we" front lately. In fact, I was rather delighted to hear her propose to someone else that "they" start walking the lake.
Perhaps my obstinate silence and non-participation in her fancy actually got through.
On the other hand, she and one other female co-worker have seemingly stepped up their "oh whatever will I do?" co-dependency tactics to involve me in their days by having me sort out the simplest computer problems they manage to encounter (things that are such no-brainers you'd cringe in disbelief).
I overheard the other one in a phone conversation yesterday...someone is coming here to visit my co-worker and she wants me to loan her a set of plans for her visitor to look at. In her phone call she said, "Let me know what time you'll arrive, and I'll ALERT RON to be on STANDBY to provide us with the plans."
I walked to her door and glared at her. "What?" she wanted to know. I said, "I don't do STANDBY, and I don't respond to ALERTS. I told you I'd loan you the plans in the morning. They'll be on your desk well before you arrive. I don't expect to be INVOLVED any further."
She got my drift. The absolute and total AIRS some folks will put on to seem more important than they are. UNbelievable.
