Dear MBarnum, when you visit with Mr. Spirtas, why don't you suggest that he add "Laura" to his songlist?

Good Afternoon!

Well, I've had a very "slow" afternoon, which is good.  Just taking it easy.  I'm contemplating staying up at Westport tonight (again), I'll see how I feel after the show.

Right now, I feel more tired than anything.  The long, hot shower seemed to help a lot, and I'm just trying to stay hydrated.

And this decision would have nothing to do with Belgian waffles?    ;)

I find Bollywood curious!

I'll be the first to admit it; I know nothing about it and actually am a Bollywood virgin.

But I'm open to persuasion!  :)

If you get to meet Mr. Barnum he will do his best to persuade you. You don't even have to meet him, just ask him and he will recommend many Bollywood movies for your edification and enlightenment

So, DR FJL, when is the end of tax season par-TAY?

And more importantly:  are we invited?   ;)

I have noticed that the hall light is old and looks shabby with the new paint job.

Those of us with the "redecorating" genes recognize that stunt a block away - hope DH has his VISA handy :)

Which reminds me, TCB has not reported on his GUMNAAM experience. Or perhaps he is still trying to digest it.

SAW IT COMING, DIDN'T WE!

Quote
'Question Mark' Killer Quietly Seethed With Rage

Cho Seung-Hui, the gunman who apparently killed 32 people and himself Monday morning at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Va., seems to have been a shy, quiet type seething with rage at unspecified tormentors.

A rambling note left in Cho's dorm room reportedly railed for several pages against "rich kids" and "debauchery" and "deceitful charlatans" on campus, and at one point states, "You caused me to do this."

An English professor said Cho's creative-writing work was so disturbing that he had been referred to on-campus counseling services.

In one class, he refused to speak and signed his name using a question mark. Fellow pupils called him "The Question Mark Kid."

There were also reports that Cho, a senior majoring in English from Centreville, Va., had been taking medication for depression, and had also recently set fire to a dorm room and stalked women.

Seems everybody in town knew this kid was off his nut and just sat by and waited for the next show to drop!

Oh well, there is plenty of blame to go around.

der Brucer

Any bets on who sues the college counselor first?

And of course DR Singdaw, GUMNAAM is always a very entertaining starting point if you should decide to tackle vintage Bollywood movies...it is a remake of TEN LITTLE INDIANS (no pun intended).

And here are some images from the film to entice you further...

DRs MBARNUM and JRAND recommended MY BROTHER NIKHAL to me last fall. Nice film. I haven't seen much Bollywood myself, but this was definitely worthwhile. Hard to find, though. My local video store has it (they were kind enough to purchase it just so I could see it) and they'll ship it to you.  videovault.com (oh, yes, they know me!)

Oh, yes, DR Singdaw, MY BROTHER NIKHIL is excellent! And Netflix has it, I do believe.

There are some wonderful Indian movies out there...and some real duds...

I have never seen an entire Bollywood film, but I do get a kick out of watching a program that runs on the local public access cable channel that shows clips of Bollywood musical numbers.  It amazes me that there are so many of them.
