As for the Topic of the Day...
DITTO
I remember watching the opening sequence of the movie version of
A Chorus Line with Baayork Lee and Fran Liebergall (the original pianist and musical supervisor). The howls of laughter and the looks of disbelief after all these years was, well, very entertaining.
-And the stories! Oh, the stories!
"Rent" - I saw this opening day in DC. And I even, sadly(?), found myself laughing out loud in a few places. And that damn CGI-cold breath still irks me!
"Bye, Bye, Birdie" - For years, I had only know the film version, and I never liked the film version. It took me a few years to actually investigate and see the stage version. Much, much better.
And I guess I could include the Disney/ABC TV adaptations of
The Music Man and
Once Upon A Matress here too.
