Today at Toyland, just before my colleague Tom Murray arrived, I was visited by a process server, giving me two copies of a legal document telling the Institute that we needed to appear in court next Thursday with our landlord to be evicted. I faxed the document to our New York attorney and to our California office. An hour later, I was notified that the new landlord had finally sent the lease for the new office to our attorney this morning, and it will go to California for its final procedures.
Around an hour later, I was informed that our NY attorney has contacted the landlord's attorney about postponing the court date to August 3rd. At this point, we either will move on Tuesday to a temporary storage space or stay put till July 31 and move to a new office. Both sound positive, but I'm waiting for the lease and the payments to arrive.
