THERE'S ALWAYS TOMORROW
« on: July 20, 2007, 12:09:12 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were today, but there's always tomorrow, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - there's always tomorrow because they certainly aren't budging right now.

I once had a fortune cookie that said :

" Do not worry about the world coming to an end - It is already tomorrow in Australia"

Unfortunatly I have misplaced it...

Sad to say DR Adriana - it's still today (July 20th) - I guess that means worry.

In my DVD player:  two versions of "Taming of the Shrew."  One from 1929 with Mary Pickfor and Douglas Fairbanks...their only movie together.  And it's only 63 minutes long!  There have obviously been some major cuts in the script! ::) The other version is from 1980 and is 127 minutes long (fewer cuts) and stars John Cleese (yes, THAT John Cleese!) as Petruchio.  We'll see what that's like. ;)

OH!

DR JMK - or others - I keep meaning to ask... Is there a proper term/name/label for that accompaniment pattern... you know, the one goes "da da da, da da-da da-da..."  That one?  ;)

It's the basis for the "Brasil", as well as a slew of other tunes.  -The fifth rises a half step, then another one, then back down to the fifth..  -"Buenos Aires" from Evita uses/steals the same accompaniment pattern.
