DR Ginny - There was a review in the NY Times of a new dance piece, and I think you might like the headline/title of the review:

When Librarians Go Bad, Texts Tumble

LOL - sounds like fun!

Oh, and welcome home to NYC, DR Jose.

DR elmore - Do you want to do dinner tonight?  -I actually feel like I sort of owe you a dinner, so... ;)

You do?  Why?  Yes, dinner would be fun and I'd love to see you!

Has anyone here had any experiences with Craig's List?  Good?  Bad?  Ugly?

I'm very excited about the web design.  TIm is a nice guy, he did a big presentation and tried to sell be on using his services even though I had already told him I wanted to hire him.   I was going to tell him to stop, but he'd obviously been working on the presentation, he had a mock up of a website and everything. It was fun.

So this weekend I'm putting together what I want on the site and getting some links to lawyers' sites that I like so he can get an idea about it.   Should be fun.

Let's see. I've been running ragged today.  I'm loving every minute of it.  I have been told by several people this week that I'm one of the happiest people they've seen in a long time....too funny.  I am loving every minute of my new venture, but I didn't realize it showed that much. And after being accused of being the wicked witch of the west for 2 years it's quite a surprise

So this weekend I shall be working. Some at the office and some at home.  Mostly at the office, setting things up for Nadia.  Tim told me how to fix an email snafu I thought was unfixable. So that was sweet. He said he'll help me out with any other computer problems at any hour of the day or night. Now THAT'S service

DR PennyO had a bad Craig's list experience looking for a New York sublet.  Where is our Ms O?

Good!

When Katrina hit, a lot of people relocated to Atlanta. We had already bought our house in Atlanta but hadn't moved in yet. I was so depressed about the whole situation that I couldn't sleep at night and felt that I had to do something. I decided that I could offer this house. Although my DH was skeptical and worried about everything, I went to Craigs' list to see if there was someone from N.O. who needed a place to stay. I was specifically looking for someone with a large dog who was having a hard time finding a place because of the large dog.

I found a nice couple, with a huge dog (a big red dog who looked like a German shepherd but twice the size---he ate the back door!). They had only been together for a few weeks and were sort of thrown together by the hurricane. They weren't perfect guests but it was more because they were in their 20's and didn't know better a lot of times. It was worth it for the friendships that came out of it and we still stay in touch (they are no longer together but we didn't expect them to be...).

The only thing that bugs me about Craig's list is when people have sold items and don't bother to remonve them from the listing.

What a relief that nothing happened to the HDTV!!!   ;D

Seriously, glad to read that you're OK.

Ain't THAT the truth!

I feared the worst after hearing a crack and lots of rattling.  I got up and dashed into the living room (as much as I was able to "dash" at 4:42 a.m. PDT) and you'd never have known anything had happened except for the relaxed swinging of a light fixture on the ceiling.

You can find great deals on household items on Craig's List---sometimes people just want to get rid of stuff and don't care how much return they make.

Dear DR Ron:

Most guys shake it after they pee.

There's actually a joke here:

A Marine and a sailor are in the men's room at the Navy Exchange.  Both turn from the urinal at about the same time and the sailor heads for the door.

The Marine says, "Hey!  They teach us Marines to wash our hands after we 'P'!"

"Yeah, I know," the sailor says. "In the Navy, they teach us not to 'P' on our hands!"

And thatta is my story.

TOD: I listened to Michael Buble at the office today. It is the only CD I have left over there.

VCR: My son as some movie in. Lots of noise, shouting, clanging, etc. I'm not watching it, just hearing it.

I'm guessing I'll finish RIO RITA and then have time to watch a MOONLIGHTING episode before the MONK/PSYCH comedy hours come on.

Once again, my mail had not been delivered when I came upstairs at 4 p.m. to get on-line. I'll beheading down in a bit to check it.

One good thing: I got up early enough this morning that I had time to mop the kitchen then! I don't have that awful chore ahead of me. Hooray!

Has anyone here had any experiences with Craig's List?  Good?  Bad?  Ugly?

Work wanted:
I thought about advertising my services as a personal trainer on my local Craigs List, but after checking out the nature of some of the ads put there, I thought I'd do better to stick with referrals from my customers. No room for misunderstanding or misinterpretation that way!

Work needed:
I've offered jobs three times, each time carefully specifying very low rates, for easy work, as that's all I wanted to pay and if no one wanted to do the work for that amount, fine.

I got two good workers for two of my tasks, lots of enquiries, and got abused via email by one person who did not want the job in question, but wanted to tell me what a jerk I was for offering such a low wage.

Depending on what you need done, I'd suggest going through Elance, and make sure you're VERY CLEAR about what you want, when you need it, and that there must be communication at all times between you both. People have to bid on jobs, so you know what they think the job is worth, and you can check out their feedback online.

Because it rained last night, it is much cooler today. It is only 98F with 26% humidity.

I don't know, DR Matt H...

Beheading seems a pretty severe punishment for a late mail delivery...   ;)

Is that considered a dry heat?   ;)
