Are they as good shipped?  I order Ginger Jump-ups from Zingerman's in Ann
Arbor.  They are individually sealed right out of the oven to keep them fresh.

I made some bacon and eggs when I got home.  OH! I had a fantastic salad on the plane. It was a grilled steak on romaine with fresh mozzerella and tomatoes and a really nice vinegrette.  It also had a cup of fresh fruit I gave to Sam and herb foccacia bread - I also gave to Sam.  I really do love the food on Midwest.

How often do you hear people rave about airline food?

Midwest actually serves food!  Did you have to purchase it separately?

The Doubletree Inn gives you loads of extra cookies if you stay during a family, or pet crises.  Not the best circumstances to get extra cookies, still they are soothing & keeps one going.

Thank you, Jane. I'll be waiting for the Salvation Army to arrive to cart away the stuff that at present fills half my living room. I do hope they show up!

Would you believe Matt took FOUR loads of my stuff to the dump, plus one load to Habitat for Humanity, plus all the stuff I've put out at the curb. And I STILL have too much stuff! Oh, and three friends came by and took their pick of my junk. (I do like finding homes for things.)

You have to buy it, but they have a real chef who makes it fresh daily.  The salad was very big. The veges were all crunchy. The fruit was firm not mushy and the bread was fresh and very tasty.   There was enough food that Sam and I split one.   The other options were A pulled pork sandwich or a chicken fajita - or something chicken/mexican - can't exactly remember what

A new breakfast, lunch and dinner experience
Imagine a chef-prepared meal served to you on your flight. An appetizing blend of fresh ingredients and flavors that incorporate Asian, Southwestern, South American and European influences. That's what Best Care Cuisine is all about – a contemporary and elegant approach to buy-onboard dining service.

Midwest has partnered with one of Milwaukee's finest restaurants, Mader's, and engaged its executive chef, Shawn Monroe, to redesign our onboard menu. He and his staff will prepare interesting and flavorful meals for our customers – all at an attractive price. Chef Monroe, who has worked with celebrity chefs Emeril Lagasse, Wolfgang Puck and Daniel Boulud, places special emphasis on using local products and blending regional cooking styles into a contemporary presentation.

Best Care Cuisine includes breakfast ($5.50 and $7.50), lunch and dinner
($5.50 and $10).

"Midwest built its reputation as "The best care in the air" by offering outstanding customer service. We intend to continue this legacy by providing an inflight dining experience that is second to none."

Timothy E. Hoeksema,
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Midwest Airlines

Best Care Cuisine Menu

Note: Best Care Cuisine is provided on most Midwest Airlines flights nationwide, except on West Coast departures and select East Coast departures. Please note that available menu selections vary by flight. Additionally, a limited number of meals is available on any particular flight.

Cillaliz, how is Midwest service otherwise? Though I guess with a full tummy life is sweeter.

It's wonderful. They have classical music playing as you board the plane.  The seats are leather and two on a side. Wide enough for Midwesterners who may be a bit wide, lol.   They are polite and I've never had a problem. Going through Milwaukee is nice, it's a small quiet and clean airport. The restaurant in the airport is very good.

I'd call that a rave review. I'll check them out next time I fly. I loathe the cattle-car approach.

Home safe and sound!
It's been a loooooong day.  Our flight left JFK on time and my DM and I both fell asleep as best we could.  We made it into Phoenix and back up to Prescott with no hitches in the plan.  But still...it was just an exhausting travel day.

I think I'm going to sleep well tonight!

Cilla you sure are lucky having such a nice eating options when you fly.

The salmon wasn't an option on my plane.  They have a limited number of meals and if they run out they run out. They do apologize about that in advance.

At times Midwest is very expensive, but they have great sales - that's how we got our tickets
