Summer aint that Bad. Just think of us about to turn the clocks back. What a nuisance !!!

You can say that again! Because of that stupid system, I get to work 13 hours in a row tonight!

Yes, I know you all sympathise with that and I'm quite grateful for it! :-\ :)

But then, I make so much money that you'd be disgusted if you knew!! :P

Tomovoz-

How do the roos react to Summer Climate?

They bounce back and forth very easily I suppose! (I'm sorry!)

THE BALLET ROOS - isn't that one of the things Cathy adores, along with a minuet and crepe suzette?

and it is now "Summer Time" here.  My body clock has yet to adjust.

The US (except for the primitives in Arizona) delay the fall back until next week - (except, of course for those folks who coped with the earlier change in the spring by manually fiddling with their computer clocks, (instead of upgrading their software, and will now be confronted with a computer system clock that resets a week early!).

At least the Kimmelettes who attend the fundraiser will get an extra hour of post-show alcoholic revelry.

The clouds rolled by (A Jerome Kern reference) and the day because absolutely beautiful: blue skies (an Irving berlin reference) and moderate temperatures. Simply lovely (a Stephen Sondheim reference).

Maybe in California, but not here.  Washington State's Liquor Control Board is very strict about enforcing any attempt at increasing drinking hours due to the change in Daylight Savings Time.

The only exception to the 2:00 a.m. rule is New Year's Eve (until 3:00) and they may have even abolished that rule.

I spent all afternoon watching CSI: MIAMI episodes. I did get to the fourth disc and should be able to get through it by the end of the evening.

Thank you all for the headache vibes.  The reading was interesting, with quite a turnout.  The "editor" when she met me thanked me for going through the score and said "I'm the scholar who's preparing this edition." I couldn't tell if she was marking territories or just letting me know that she has a PhD and uses "Doctor" before her name in all conversation.  I wanted to retort with "you may be a scholar but you sure ain't no musician," but I behaved.  After a while the headache came back as I listened to her acting informed about the crap I had to correct to the orchestra and folk there. She knows a lot about the history of the show, but she knows nothing about right notes, wrong notes, Broadway  band parts vs touring parts, cued notes or the history of how old the parts shes working from may even be.

I had fun with several friends who were there - Robert Kimball and his lovely wife, Bruce Pomahac of Rodgers & Hammerstein, conductor Rob Berman, and the mighty Josh who makes me laugh.  It was great to see Red Press, who's getting a special Tony Award on Tuesday.

I'm so glad. I would have been appalled if you had used a sentence like that!

Now "You may be a scholar, but you sure aren't any f*cking musician.!" would be OK.

RE: last night's GHOST WHISPERER

SPOILERS

I didn't end up watching it last night.  But I did watch it today.  I wasn't that interested in the first half of the show.  The past few weeks i've been riveted in my seat. But i sort of found the beginning of last night's show off.

I agree with DR MattH. It's a bit much when the lead character is in peril. Because it's obvious nothing is going to happen to her. So it's not really that interesting.

And i was sort of amazed that melinda would go into that tunnel alone, especially without telling anyone.

I did enjoy the stuff with her dad and her brother. Although i was sort of stunned when her brother intentionally locked her in that tunnel. I mean i knew he was bad. But i didn't think he would actually set out to kill her.

Looks look it could get interesting in the next few weeks.

My 2 year old niece took her nap here today for the fist time in a big bed (she usually takes her saturday nap here but it had been in her playpen).  She didn't want to go to sleep. But she finally did.

I just found out that she will be going trick-or-treating here. Not sure if she will like it. Or if she will want to do it. But i think it will be fun.

I love the insecurity of many people with Phds.  They are still not wise enough to distinguish between knowledge and wisdom. The knowledge they have is often limited too!. That they expect to be addressed as "Doctor" is their need for recognition.  They have fallen into the sad trap of becoming their qualification at the cost of their real "self".

It really is an extension of becoming our occupation instead of ourselves.
"Just A Housewife" came to mind.

That social question "what do you do for a living" puts us into little boxes.
I was quite proud to belong to my profession but I hope I was far more than a teacher.

I'm reminded of that limerick of the lady killing her self by degrees

Well, she did try to call her husband but got a "No Signal" on her cell, and muttered "Sorry, Jim." as she plunged forward.

Tomovoz, we found out that our "Doctor" had a degree from a diploma mill.
