I wonder if DR MISS KAREN is waxing her furniture as she waxes philosophic?

No, she's not.... I'm not very domestic -- I need DR Matt! I know, I know, I am being very philosphical today, aren't I?

I think it's because I've been dealing with some very unethical folks (dishonesty is very unsexy to me!) which makes me love and value the good-hearted even more.  I'm doing the battle to get my security deposit back on the sublet in NYC (disputed it and the broker's fee -- they were on my credit card -- my company ruled in my favor but now he's disputing the fee through his card company and saying his dispute for the deposit is pending while he tries to get the owner to cough it up, but I'm saying I'm through doing busy with both him and her since it's way past due so they ain't getting a penny back from me -- he can hassle with that women to get it back),  and the insurance scam regarding the woman Cason bumped into when they started to go at a stop light there in LA and she stopped in front of him (yep, that popular scam).  Now she's claiming medical injury. According to Cason, there wasn't a scratch on his car nor her's. I've seen his car, and it supports his story (he drives a little aluminum and plastic Toyota Echo which dents if you even sneeze on it). He's still on our policy, so hence, we're the ones she's going after. Haven't gotten the official word from our insurance company, but Allstate (her's) must have fixed it and forwarded the bill on to a collection agency cause we're getting the calls and a form saying we gotta pay $3,044 (that with no call, first notice or second and final notice from Allstate). Just bam! Collection Agency harrassment. And they sent it on to the DMV cause Cason got the notice he has to sign a report form by the 10th. Cason didn't report it when it happened because he honestly didn't think there was any damage, she didn't say she was hurt, so he felt it didn't fit the requirements of "over $750 in damages or injury or death."  Sorry, I'm all keyed up which makes me even more wordy than usual. Poor DH has had to listen to me rant and rave for days, so consider those of of you who lasted this far into my post lucky.

The only version I will listen to on purpose is the Canadian Brass'.

I've always found We Three Kings kind of creepy.

What is everyone's LEAST favorite Christmas song?

The one I heard at Curves last night..."I'm going to email Santa and send my list to Santa.com" Of course it has to be with a disco type exercise remix or whatever they call the workout music

It's been snowing all day.  We maybe have around 3 inches on the ground so far and we're supposed to end up with about 4 inches of snow when it stops in an hour or so.   I decided to give working at home a shot today.  So far I made a great leek and potato soup, worked out, showered and am finally getting around to sitting down to work.  I have some writing to do so I best get started.

I do think I if I can just get in the habit of actually working on days I'm home to work I could get a lot done.  My phones are forwarded to my cell and there is a note on the office window telling people to call me. So, I'm hoping I can work at home during bad weather and then maybe once ever couple weeks.  I just love being able to sit in my slippers and not have to leave the house!

I will have to go out and try to get the snow blower going as soon as this snow stops. We're going to have a break tomorrow and more over the weekend, so I need to keep up with it.

I've seen What a Way To Go many times - love the costumes!! Nice, wacky little extravaganza. Also Trouble With Harry and Postcards. Wasn't she in the old Around the World in 80 Daze? I liked that one...

I'm here at the other sister's place now - Tami had foot surgery about 10 days ago, and still can't walk or drive. Gonna go now, and take her on her bazillion errands... laters, skaters!

Yes. I haven't looked at the Omaha World Hearald yet, but there's an article in the Des Moines Register.  6 were employees and 2 were shoppers. http://www.desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071206/NEWS/71206007  this is from the Des Moines Register. I'm having trouble getting the link to work. If you cant get there it's on the front page at www.dmregister.com

I woke up this morning thinking about DR DCelt and her family, which lead me to think about DR Danise and Dr Elmo and others who had lost loved ones this past year. There is nothing one can say, but I do hope you'll think often of the good times with your loved ones -- the happy memories -- as your comfort and your peace as you work through the grief.

I come on this site, one, for the entertainment -- all of you make me laugh -- often out loud -- and two because of the compassion, care and love you all show in your posts for each other, your families, your friends, and your pets. (And it's been supported by those of you I've met in person in LA and NYC). Sure, some of us can be snarky at times or get our feelings hurt, etc., but bottom line you are all so caring and kind -- you've got good hearts. So know that your loved ones upstairs are looking down with pride -- and a toast to them for playing a part in making each of you the person you are.

Lovely words, Miss K. Gosh, you'll make me turn all sentimental. You wouldn't want THAT, would you?  ;)

Der B I'm assuming the best covereage of the mall shootings will be at www.omaha.com, the World Hearald website. I haven't been able to log in, I'm sure the media must be monitoring it so no regular people can get in to see what's up....anyway, back to work

And, no, I didn't know anyone.  It's a relief to me personally, but I feel very bad for the families who can't say that.  Especially the woman who was standing next to her husband when he was shot.  They were shopping for their kids and grandkids, I can't imagine what she's going through.

1.  It's a good job.  No mistake about it.  Benefits are especially good, as is the retirement package.  BUT, as is true of any place, we have "do-gooders" who, despite good intentions, step on the last nerve of common sense at times.  Sometimes, it seems, the lack of employee enthusiasm doesn't sway the "big boss" from going ahead with an idea he likes.

2.  I've not yet watched last night's "Life".  I watched "Project Runway" in lieu...and DVR'ed "Life" for perusal this e'en.  Will weigh in afterwards.  Keep those SPOILER alerts clicking, please, when discussions of last night's episode ensue.

: )

Sorry about that, but I didn't say much.
