You bet your aspidistra.  :D ;D

I'd bet your Aspen!

Ah, aspidistra as a nomination for bk's WOD tomorrow, perhaps...

I wonder if one would find aspidistra growing on Uranus, DR JRand?

Here's something someone sent me via e-mail - does anyone know anything about this?  It's very clever and very funny:

I love that Kelli O'Hara was the woman. :) She was good.

No, she's not.... I'm not very domestic -- I need DR Matt! I know, I know, I am being very philosphical today, aren't I?

I think it's because I've been dealing with some very unethical folks (dishonesty is very unsexy to me!) which makes me love and value the good-hearted even more.  I'm doing the battle to get my security deposit back on the sublet in NYC (disputed it and the broker's fee -- they were on my credit card -- my company ruled in my favor but now he's disputing the fee through his card company and saying his dispute for the deposit is pending while he tries to get the owner to cough it up, but I'm saying I'm through doing busy with both him and her since it's way past due so they ain't getting a penny back from me -- he can hassle with that women to get it back),  and the insurance scam regarding the woman Cason bumped into when they started to go at a stop light there in LA and she stopped in front of him (yep, that popular scam).  Now she's claiming medical injury. According to Cason, there wasn't a scratch on his car nor her's. I've seen his car, and it supports his story (he drives a little aluminum and plastic Toyota Echo which dents if you even sneeze on it). He's still on our policy, so hence, we're the ones she's going after. Haven't gotten the official word from our insurance company, but Allstate (her's) must have fixed it and forwarded the bill on to a collection agency cause we're getting the calls and a form saying we gotta pay $3,044 (that with no call, first notice or second and final notice from Allstate). Just bam! Collection Agency harrassment. And they sent it on to the DMV cause Cason got the notice he has to sign a report form by the 10th. Cason didn't report it when it happened because he honestly didn't think there was any damage, she didn't say she was hurt, so he felt it didn't fit the requirements of "over $750 in damages or injury or death."  Sorry, I'm all keyed up which makes me even more wordy than usual. Poor DH has had to listen to me rant and rave for days, so consider those of of you who lasted this far into my post lucky.

~~~Vibes for Miss Karen and Cason!!~~~
I'm here at the other sister's place now - Tami had foot surgery about 10 days ago, and still can't walk or drive. Gonna go now, and take her on her bazillion errands... laters, skaters!
Yes, I checked out the film clip - apparently this wine company commissions a famous film person every year to do a commercial for them.  This one is directed by Scorsese and is hilarious, especially his performance.  I'd love to know what the budget was for these nine minutes of film.  My guess is at least a million bucks, maybe closer to five.
BMW did something very similar to this.  They hired eight different directors to make eight different short films starring Clive Owen as the driver of one of the BMW cars and there were adventures and special effects, aplenty.  I got the DVD (for free).  They used to have them on-line, but they no longer do.  For advertising campaigns, they all just seem much too expensive for what they're selling...even for the cars.
I was just flipping channels and caught enough of a documentary "The Jaundiced Eye" that got my sense of outrage in high gear.
http://www.indierag.com/content/interviews/030330nonnydlp.html
I'd never heard of this, but the library system where I work has one copy of the videotape, and has had it since 2001.  I was going to place a hold for it, but I went to Amazon.com and bought a new copy from a Marketplace seller for less than $7...including shipping. :)
Just in time for my birthday I received good news today.  My wrist is no longer broken.  Now I begin the difficult portion of the healing process & I have a referral for physical therapy.  The doctor is still concerned the damage to the soft tissue, nerves, etc. may never heal & I’ll have carpal tunnel-all that from a minor break.:o
I’m typing this without wearing the splint.  Thank goodness for my new, easy to use, keyboard.  I’m taking this splint off slowly & will still use it.  The doctor also said I’m not to use the computer too much.
Great news, Jane!! ;D
An ode for Boo-key and Miss Karen, to be sung to the fabricating other party:
Police navidad, police navidad, police navidad
That you didn't call the cops is odd
Police navidad, police navidad, police navidad
Though he didn't hit your car too hod
We wanna wish you a %$#@ Christmas
We wanna wish you a %$#@ Christmas
We wanna wish you a %$#@ Christmas
So you think you're so darn smart
We wanna wish you a %$#@ Christmas
We wanna wish you a %$#@ Christmas
We wanna wish you a %$#@ Christmas
You're a lying, cheating tart
Really terrific Irene Dunne film....with Kay Johnson being directed by husband John Cromwell....  Kay played what would later be the Eve Arden role:
"Where's Jud?" she is asked about her husband.
And she replies:  "He thinks he's going around with a flat tire....  And no cracks from you."
I have no idea what this picture is....but I recognize Catherine Denouve, Christopher Lee, Raquel Welch, Ursula Andress, Woody Allen, the tall guy on the right is Bill Travers.
Maybe it was taken during filming of CASINO ROYALE...first version...I don't know....but it's a lot of 60's culture in one place!  ;D
Oh.....it can't be hot linked...
Ancestry.com just announced a new grouping of passports online.  Keith found my father's parents.  One passport, two photos and all the children listed as well.  Really cool!  Plus we finally found the name of the town my grandfather was from.
Just did a one-hour phoner with an author who's doing a book on Dana Plato.  Very interesting.  He hasn't been able to get all that much that's positive on her, but I gave him plenty because my experience with her, save for one bit of flakiness after we'd finished the film, was all positive and I adored her and we worked together very well and she did a terrific job.  I never saw any evidence of her dark side - not drinking, not drugs, not anything but a terrific girl giving a nice performance of terrible material (although I rewrote her role pretty much from scratch every day before we shot).
