It's cold and wet here.
Had snow earlier.  Now, we're having rain. Rain.  Rain.
Tonight, we will freeze so that by the time I head out for work tomorrow, I'll be confronted by a snowy, icy mess.

Some cousins remain around the kitchen table swilling beers, including ButtMonkey Ale.

Mum's relaxed in her chair, thankful for the day's festivities, but worn out.

I'm worn out too, and may even take a little old lay-me-down before I have to go out and salt the driveways again. . .

Is Mr. B. Childers related to Mr. M. Childers?

No, he's related to B. Dalton.

Td, thanks for the party news updates and the photos.  The Christmas tree is beautiful.  Who is making & and what will it be when it’s completed.

Re Danny Kaye

I remember a really funny bit in a film; the scene was set in a large elegant drawing room with a large ceramic platter balanced on  a ledge over a doorway; when the band hit certain rhythms, the plate would start to walk across the ledge; the villain entered and stood under the doorway and Kaye proceeded to try and get the plate to fall and KO the baddie.

On the Riviera perhaps?

I believe you mean the 1948 musical A SONG IS BORN, with Kaye and Virginia Mayo.  If memory serves me correctly, one of the baddies in that scene was Ben Weldon, Keith’s cousin.

The film was a remake of the 1941 film BALL OF FIRE with Gary Cooper and Barbara Stanwyck.  As much as I love Danny Kaye, I prefer the original film.

DR’s TCB, elmore, George & Ginny, take care of your throats.

DR Edi, take care of your lungs.

All of you, wear a scarf wrapped around your face when you go out into the cold.

Hello, all you lovely DRs!  I am back from New Jersey.  My mother and I cut back this year.  We only made about 80 dozen cookies of approximately 7 different types.

Whew!  :)

I now have to go re-group.  And catch up on two days of HHW.

But I shall be back!

Thanks, Jane.  I'll have to find my scarf, though. ::) I think it's in my extra bedroom....I think.

You have been the busy, busy travelling boy, haven't you!

From San Diego to NYC to New JERsey all in the same week!

It's a wonder you have the strength to log on, much less attempt to catch up.

Der Brucer is watching a movie called Ghost Rider.  I have no idea why.

Man!  I'm stuffed from dinner.  I p-i-g-g-ed OUT on the chicken again.

I've also dropped a couple of hints today about my favorite chocolate pie which I've been told won't happen in the next couple of days, but "we'll see...."

It's so strange going from the extremes of yesterday's summer-like weather and today's wintry blast.

Well, it's time for me to leave work, go home, take a long, hot shower, dress and go to the theater!  Tonight is our last evening performance!  We have a matinee tomorrow, then we strike and it's all over!  After tonight's show, our light/sound board operator/voice of God and his wife, who plays Judy, are having a party at their house...they have a hot tub!  It'll be a great way to end this show. ;D

Glad to hear that you like Mum's quilting.  It's a gift for a cousin.

Lucky cousin!!  Does you Mum do it all by hand or a mix of hand and machine?  I would enjoy seeing other photos of her quilting.
