I took twenty Happy Birthday balloons today and gave all but one away to the children. I think the first year I took five.

I spent the afternoon watching more episodes of THE TUDORS. Unlike network TV shows, these episodes do last almost an hour each (with no commercial breaks), so one can't see quite as many in one sitting than if one were watching regular network TV episodes without commercials.

I still have 1 1/2 more episodes to go. The transfers are a tad better in the latter half of the set, but only marginally sharper. They still look soft in many shots.

I will say that the casting director must have looked high and wide to find the most gorgeous men and women available for casting in this show. Many of the men are very beautiful and the women equally so.

Der B - The clean-up was authorized and I asked questions regularly.  It was only when Skip saw what a good job I did with 2006 excess paper that I was permitted to get started on cleaning up the 2007 papers.  (I was careful not to say purging.  :) )

It is interesting that the words "tossing" and "purging" are the best descriptions for de-packratting, though.

I will soon be heading downstairs to clean my bathroom and then get back to the remainder of THE TUDORS. Then, I'll probably watch the anamorphic version of PILLOW TALK.

Back from a couple of errands and will soon have to do one more - it's a gorgeous day, however, like it's suddenly summer.

I started to watch the new CASINO ROYALE....Daniel Craig is just not James Bondian to me...and his ears are huge! I only watched about a half hour of it...my brother in law requested that I bring it over tomorrow for viewing at their house, so I will.

the 1/2 hour that I saw was rather preposterous...and equally preposterous is the movie I am now watching...LATITUDE ZERO...but I do enjoy me some Richard Jaeckel and there is a giant lion and some Japanese actors saying their lines in English.

DR FJL and SKIP would of course score the stage version of the film of my life!

Haven't they already done enough sci-fi?

I'm also trying to figure out what kind of desk calendar to get for downstairs. My friend Hal gave me a WIZARD OF OZ daily calendar for upstairs (which you'll be getting clips from in the coming year after I've exhausted the Harry Potter clips), but I'm not sure what I'll have for downstairs. I had a Peanuts calendar for 2007, but I think I'll look for something else this year.

About eight or nine years ago, some company put out a Dead Celebrity Daily Desk Calendar.  It listed who died each day, how they died, and a few other tidbits.  I know it sounds sick, but it was really pretty funny.  I have never seen one since.

I have to say that I'm looking forward to two blessed days of easy going pleasure today and tomorrow. I can bum around in old clothes and not shave and just do the usual chores without worrying about getting ready for a party or buying gifts or anything.

In other words:  Business as Usual.

Randy and Jo and the dogs Maddie and Max just sent me a site to Elf Myself, but it must be busy today since the downloads take forever.  Here's my ecard from Randy and Jo

http://www.elfyourself.com/?id=1722891387

That it terrific!  My friends sent out a similar type of e-card that re-tells IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE.  I wouldn't normally post this, but since I do make a cameo appearance as Clarence, I thought you might enjoy it.
