Hello, everyone.

It feels like rain here and I once again feel lazy. There's been a lot of that lately.

Watching MILLION DOLLAR MERMAID.....I know that a lot of Esther's emerging from the water effect was done by reversing the film, sometimes a couple of times.....and I know that she was known as a swimmer, but it seems to me watching these movies that her high diving was done by a double....and a couple of her sliding stunts were as well....not to take anything away from her.

Still I am at a loss to explain her popularity.

DAKOTA CELT also helped with BK's birthday DVD, even though her life was in turmoil at the time. She immediately offered to do some artwork, which was quite lovely, and without her, I'm afraid we would have forgotten the fershluganah COWS! And what's HHW without cows, I ask you?

I have to go back to work on Wednesday. Too soon, even though I've been away from the office since November 28th.

Hard Candy Christmas is playing in the background and Anthony is in the shower getting ready for our trip to Brooklyn. I need to get the passports out of the filing cabinet  ;)

We received a most wonderful and grand Christmas present from Ant's parents. We got an ION TTB USB Turntable! We will now be able to transfer records ourselves instead of depending on the kidness of friends. We set it up last night and recorded a couple of tracks from some albums we are familiar with and the results are great. We got the model without the dust cover but we have space issues anyway so it's easier to store without the dust cover. The turntable will fit on the desk next to the computer when we want to use it. We already use the software it comes with so there was no pesky installation to be done, just making sure the weight on the tone arm was correctly calibrated. Hoo and Ray. We will be recording and burning late into the night I'm sure.

It's not over yet, but all in all, it's been a lovely holiday season. I'm relaxed and not dreading going back to the office (it would be great if I didn't have to go but I don't hate my job so it's not a real issue for me) and we will continue the holiday celebrations well into January (as a precursor to my Ground Hog Day birthday).

On return from Long Island there was a packet of tax forms from the State of New York in my mail box. I will get my W-2 forms on January 28th and will do my taxes as soon as possible after that. I've already made my IRA deposit so whatever tax refund I'm getting will go to a new computer. We don't NEED one but the 'puter on Long Island is on it's last legs so I'll buy a new one for the city and take the old one out to Anthony's parents. His mother will be very happy to receive this one.

I plan to have a relaxing day of watching movies...and not leaving the house! Must finish my Edna Mae Oliver movie, which co-stars Mr. Buster Crabbe who wears nothing but a skimpy pair of bathing trunks during the entire film!

THAT is worth the price of admission!!

Like elmore, I finally got the night of sleep I really needed, slept late, and feel groggy but good.  Groggy But Good - that's the title of my next novel.

Congrats to Skip on Herringbone.  In honor of the award, I shall look lovingly at a jar of herring.

it's good to get some validation

Yes, indeed.  Especially since you're still in the doghouse about the freezer door.

HAPPY BD, DAKOTACELT.  If you don't have them already, I highly recommend both Moya Brennan's and Natalie MacMaster's new CDs.

I've made a New Year's resolution to avoid bad puns.  This cuts down on my posting quite a bit.

Maybe I meant I'll avoid reading bad puns, not avoid saying them.
