Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in gear, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're in neutral right now and are going nowhere fast.

BK, glad you liked (if not loved) "Sweeney Todd."

I was so pleased I didn't hate it.  I'll definitely buy the DVD when it comes out, which will probably be sooner than later.

To recap:  yesterday, I had brunch with my friend Margo and her friend Marsha, then we all went to see "P.S. I Love You," which was pretty good. ;)

So, after the movie, I was walking through the mall to which the movie theater is attached and I walked by this store that I had never noticed before, called Steve & Barry's (I think).  Anyway, they had signs everywhere saying "EVERYTHING IS $8.99!  NO EXCEPTIONS!"  Everything?  Yup, everything in the store (mainly t-shirts, really) was $8.99.  I walked around and didn't see ANYTHING in my size, but they had a few shoe choices, and they were all $8.99 per pair.  I actually bought two pairs of the exact same style white tennis shoes, figuring that for $8.99, how bad can they be.  I put them on when I got home and wore them later in the evening and so far, so good. :)

After that, I changed clothes so that I could usher for Harlequin Productions' Operation Stardust.  It was written by them, set in 1942 and using actual period songs as performances...meaning, no sung dialogue.  It was quite good.  My friends Russ and Nat were in it.  They were also in Cannibal! The Musical! that I was in last year.  In one scene, I even played Nat's father.  Last night's show was a lot of fun.  Their final show is New Year's Eve.

After seeing Operation Stardust, Margo and I went to Red Robin...only the second time I ate today (bruch was VERY filling).  I had the Burger Parmigiana...very good. :) After that, I came home and logged in to HHW. :)

Sunday morning greetings!  It's the first of my 3-days-in-a-row off and I'm up early to accompany DH Richard to church in Cincinnati.  Later this afternoon, I'm joining some of my book group girlfriends for a rousing game of Booklovers' Trivial Pursuit.

RE: BK's comments on SWEENEY TODD

SPOILERS I guess.

I actually totally agree a few of the things you wrote, especially re: Helena Bonham Carter's Mrs. Lovett.

My favorite parts of SWEENEY (the stage musical) are the humor and Mrs. Lovett.  Although here is a question. Is it Ms Carter and Mr. Depp or did they just do what the director told him (i.e., maybe he wanted it to be compeletely humorless, which is what i think).

RE: Anthony.

I actually disagree about this one. I loved him.  Although I will agree that at first i was also a bit startled by his look.

But his voice was just so perfect. And after i ignored the hairdo, i just really enjoyed him.

Last night I went to see a small play called Pied a Terre that is playing Off Broadway at Theater Row, which I quite enjoyed.  For much of the play, I thought it was quite predictable, but I was enjoying watching it unfold nonetheless, especially because I was enjoying the acting of the young actress, a woman named Jessica McKee, whom I had never seen before.  But then, the play took a twist that I wasn't expecting and it made it quite interesting.  The playwright is John Anastasi.  The program lists several other plays he's written, but I was not familiar with any of them.
