Apparently they've already given out the biggies - or at least someone posted that a certain actor and his film had won.

I was given this LITTLE PEOPLE, BIG WORLD job after 2 other editors tried to deliver a tape and failed. (Not their fault, IMHO.) I was asked to give it the "Amy Linton touch". What the hell does THAT mean?

Perhaps they said Amy Linton is touched.

BK< Just turn on CNN or NBC.They are totally different shows doing the same thing CNN is live. NBC is doing their own thing and announcing after they've been awarded

That's what I thought was going to happen, but NBC wasn't "hinting".

In fact, the Awards "ceremony" is already over.  And in just about 30 minutes!

It's pretty simple with the Globes - whichever studio and films have given the five or ten Foreign Press people the most perks, the most interviews, and spent the most money wins.  That is why SPOILER

Juno did not win.  You cannot take the Globes seriously either on its own or as a harbinger of things to come, since there are TEN actors and actresses and films up for best picture and best acting.

And saved us all about three and a half hours of our lives.

Kerry, I don't think there was symbolism. I think he was just doing things to show them being undone backwards.

I will say, I do like the "expediency" of tonight's presentation, but I do feel a bit sorry for the first-time nominees who were not able to experience their first Golden Globes ceremony.

DR Jose, the Petrossian building is at the top of my list of favorite NY buildings, perhaps because I've seen it so often due to its close proximity to The Wellington. I always look at the menu when I walk past, and think to myself that one day I will have dinner there, but there never seemed to be an occasion special enough (i.e. we don't have the wardrobe for it!). Who knew you could go in and get a croissant?

How dressed up do you have to get to do that?

I believe he was in his DR. Denton's and a robe.

Tonight's dinner is "leftovers" - (a pot roast done in the new stock yesterday, left to mature overnight).

der Brucer

It sounds quite delish.  What time should I show up?

Don't go Larry.  Never attend a dinner where the pot roast is more mature than you are.

The Globes site certainly isn't updating, is it?  What else won - I know about Sweeney and Depp.

I loathe the Golden Globes and all they don't stand for.

I did add a few movies to our NetFlix queue from their list.

I have always thought that the best way to do awards shows would be to cut the commentary and patter, read off the winners, and then have anyone wearing a pretty dress do a quick walk across the stage.

Am I the only DR interested in this Masterpiece Theatre Jane Austen Festival?

I wish I had a video or a DVD of the production of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE that I directed a few years ago.  The costumes were gorgeous, the sets clever, the direction terrific, and the cast was about 96% perfection ( a couple minor flaws).

The current rumors for the Carnegie Hall concert production of SHOW BOAT is that Nathan Gunn is playing Ravenal.  Will DR MBarnum be walking to New York?

He is a bit young for MBarnum, and he is not even from India!

TCB it is a shame you don't have a DVD.  I bet the direction was terrific.  I wish elmore and I could have seen it.

Has a weekend of rest helped you to feel better?

Here's the Globes site that shows the winners as they are announced, just in case you miss it like I did

http://www.goldenglobes.org/nominations/index.html

Cate Blancehtt in which category?  There is no star next to her name on either category.

Are we doing spoilers for the west coast, or is it the same time everywhere. Or are spoilers appropriate for a "news conference" announcement

All the winners are already listed at CNN.
