It's lunchtime, and all my lunch buddies are out of the office.

So sad to be all alone at lunch time.

I'm gonna have to do something to preclude that tomorrow!

Sorry to read about little Finn's passing.

Our paper carried an obit that shocked me, too - my former hairdresser Sally died at age 67.  As a single mom, she raised a wonderful son and daughter.  The daughter survived a severely abusive marriage (her husband almost killed her) and the whole family became activists against domestic violence.

Sunset?  Sunrise?  And what were you doing out in the dark, young lady?  Don't you know the creatures of the night were still prowling around?

In July in Phoenix, one must begin one's walk very very early in the morning. It becomes too hot very quickly.

I hope the sidewinders give you plenty of room to walk.

That's what Richard used to do when we visited my mom there in the summers.  And, we'd have to wait until it cooled off later in the evening before we could go swimming (actually, we waited until the pool was shaded, but joked about it being cool enough to go swimming).

One of the notable pizza places mentioned in the blog I posted earlier is in Phoenix: http://www.pizzeriabianco.com/

Have you ever been there, DearReaderLaura?

There's just nighthawks, bats, coyotes, jackrabbits, and cottontails that early in the morning.

DearReaderLaura DR, we leave momentarily to get the licence - in San Mateo.  [No appointments to be had in San Fransisco proper].  And then tomorrow, a friend of ours who is licensed to do such things is performing the ceremony in a lovely backyard garden.

Back from a jog - managed to go the full distance, but it was easy today because I began thinking about one of the short story ideas I've had for the last year or so.   While I like all the ideas I've come up with so far (about four), this is the one that speaks loudest to me, so when I got back from the jog, I wrote the first two paragraphs of what will hopefully be the first in a new collection of short fiction.  I loved doing the last set of stories and people seemed to like them (although it is the lowest selling book of all mine - especially on this here site), so I think because I'm in such a writing mood, this will be a good thing to do for the rest of the year, at me leisure, doing as few or as many pages as I like.

When I lived in Phoenix, we only swam after dark, It was too hot during the day.  The pool would be packed when the sun went down

Probably, DearReaderLaura DR, but it's not a big deal...Just two two of us and two other people.  We had a big commitment ceremony 20 years ago with family, friends, food, etc.

DR Singdaw - congratulations!  Will there be cake?

DR Elmore and I have long-lost mutual friend who married on July 4 in what she and her husband called their "Dependence Day" ceremony.

And after 20 years you STILL want to get married.  Wow! That's impressive  ;)

Since I live in a state that has more pigs than people...no, pigs don't sweat. They don't have sweat glands.  That's why they roll in the mud and go in water.   The mud also serves as sunscreen

Mr. Producer and his pals are back shilling the new Gypsy CD on one of the chat boards.  How do you know it's him or his shill?  Easy, when all they do is talk about how brilliant the producer is and how GREAT all his recordings are, and how BRILLIANT the mix is on a certain CD he produced.  It's so patently obvious that it's hilarious.  And when someone (as someone did) comes in and posts something negative about a CD this person produced, the person, according to some with personal experience, get nasty PMs from said producer and shills, and then they are ridiculed in posts, usually with the standard line "Why do you have such hate for Time-Life?"  Note to producer and shills and Time-Life - some people will not like everything you do - get over it.

DR JMK  - poor DD Blanche!  Glad she's OK, even if your wallet is not.

DR Cillaliz - I so envy you!!  Your time at the lake sounds like it will be fantastic.

DR George - I thought the beauty of condo living was that the association took care of the backyard weeds?  ???

DR Edi - I read that entertaining pizza article this morning!  His abuse of his oven was quite humorous.  Can't wait to hear about the new restaurant.  ***TRAVEL VIBES*** to DH Greg!

DR elmore is writing critical notes and bk is writing author's notes!   :)

DR JRand57 - does the set meet with your approval?

***RECOVERY VIBES*** to DR Kerry

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO GABE!!!!!
