Sorry, DR Ron. I don't know HOW I missed the "joking" part. You even added a smilie. My mistake. I guess I'm still reeling from all those PBS pledge breaks.

Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Ashton Jutcher, George Clooney, Lenny Kravitz, Justin Timberlake, Hugh Grant, Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Denzel Washington, Colin Farrell, Derek Jeter, Viggo Mortensen, Benicio Del Toro, Jude Law, David Beckham, Ewan McGregor, Adrien Brody, Orlando Bloom, Mark Wahlberg, and 50 Cent are officially going on my "Pretty Boy" wall. Have I ever mentioned that?

Okay, have those people seen Russell Crowe lately?  C'mon! MASTER AND COMMANDER was mis-named, it could've been called, MOBY DICK - THE GREAT WHITE WHALE.

Still...we KNOW who the "real" stars of "Will and Grace" are, now don't we!!

Speaking of which, where is Shelley Morrison?  There was the news that she was arrested for shoplifting earlier this year, but is she in prison?  Was she fired?  Will our dear, sweet Rosario ever come back or will she forever be a "Maris Crane" in all future episodes?????

Shelley is only a recurring character on the show and has never been on every episode in any season. I will admit she's been around less this season than the last several, but I'm sure I would have read something if she had been fired due to that unfortunate incident. Maybe she's in rehab.

Turned the page: Add LL Cool K, Andy Roddick, Matthew Perry, ANOTHER picture of Jude Law, Jet Li, Michael Vartan, Nick Lachey, Benjamin McKenzie, Seann William Scott, and a whole bunch of non-famous hotties to the wall.

I love this magazine!

I don't think that LORD OF THE RINGS marathon is going to be done in every city, just LA and NYC.

DR Ron, is it happening in your part of CA?

I thought that according to one of the documentaries that one scene with Christopher Lee that was to be at the end of the Two Towers was going to be used instead at the beginning of The Return of the King

Would have been nice if PEOPLE had included some out gay actors in that bunch: Robert Gant, for example, or Kyan Douglas or Chad Allen. They're certainly sexier than several from that list that I can see.

I know that one of the local cinemas willl be showing the extended version of part one for a week, followed by the extended version of part two for a week and then I guess part three. Not sure if all three will be shown in one day though

Something HAS CHANGED on this forum since I logged on.

Something that fooled me.

I went to the top of the page so that I could access something that was written yesterday...and there was no "tree"....I scrolled down, and then up....then down, and then up...and then I saw those small-sized words across the top like a menu bar....and thought, "BR. Mark Bakalor is being sadistic!"

I think your mind is playing tricks. I did no community admin work today other than removing old file attachments. The change from the graphical to textual navigation you speak of was done weeks ago. Nobody seemed to complain then. :)

Rumors in early 2003 have it that the first cut is six hours long because of the amount of material from Tolkien's original story that remains to be covered.

The character Shelob (in the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers), Gollum refers to her as "she"), originally appeared in the book, The Two Towers, but it was decided that she should be placed in the third film as not much happens to Frodo and Sam in the third book.

AND SPOILER AHEAD!!!!!

There were several different versions filmed of a death scene for a major charactor and the actor/actress playing the role has no idea which one will be used until he/she sees it.

I think most people are already expecting the Best Director Oscar to have Peter Jackson's name on it. And I don't know of anything else coming up in the coming weeks that should challenge that assumption. He may get it even if the final film is merely good.

Ah, yes, wlajb!  Jackson's films of Tokien are indeed transcendental!
But, he would be the first to say that the "Extended Versions" are NOT director's cuts - - they are simply lengthier versions of the films - - the director's cuts are what are released to the theaters according to his contract with New Line.
