Merciful heavens...a STOLEN apple pie?  Moi?  Now I ask you.

Stollen is a German bread, very Christmas-y and something like panettone, with a bit of fruit and nuts and a niceish lump of marzipan in the center.  Yummy indeed with coffee.

Interesting that nobody questioned "Yule Log."  If anything, I would have thought THAT would be the food item to occasion comment.

Jrand: I ADORE Queen Bee.  "Darling, a party is to women what a battlefield is to men...oh, I forgot.  You weren't in the Army.  Something about drinking, wasn't it?"

JMK: I'm making another one of my occasional pop-ins.  I'm just lucky that my friends here put up with my here-today-gone-tomorrow ways.  Yes, I'm the "When Michael Calls" one.  :)

We just went to see (finally) "The Incredibles."  What an amazing looking movie.  Usually praising a film's production design is a case of damning with faint praise, and I certainly don't mean to do that.  But WOW.  I love the Populuxe look, and this movie has that in abundance.  Seriously, it's worth seeing just to LOOK at, much less watch.

My spaghetti's al dente, so ta for now.

I'm now playing -- at work! -- the Meat Loaf Christmas cd, as well as Eminem singing the songs of Irving Berlin!

A very busy day here. I was out lunching with friends and then he figured out finally which digital camera he wanted to buy his wife, so off we went to get it. He luckily got the last one - a nice Canon 5.1 megapixel unit. I'm jealous, especially since I was fiddling with my camera this afternoon and shot some pictures which were full of white splotches (and we've had no snow!) I'm seriously thinking of getting a new one after the first of the year.

We stopped by Target for him to get some Elton John CD set, and I picked up DE-LOVELY (which I'll probably regret in the morning, but I can always sell it to some used sites.)

I like QUEEN BEE and AUTUMN LEAVES, but none can hold a candle to FEMALE ON THE BEACH or TORCH SONG for sheer camp value (QUEEN BEE comes the closest).

Sauce is a'simmering.  I like a nice simmering sauce, don't you?  I have to stir very often and I keep adding a little thisa and a little thata with an emphasis on the latter.

Oh, past midnight here!

I guess, for us here, Christ is born!

See, Matt, I find the "I'm an Indian Too" rather clever.  Go figure.  That's why he's America's songwriter.  Somethin' for everyone.

The 12 drummers in the nude are freezing their butts off and would like something warm to drink!

Since I don't have Larry Moore's Xmas cd, I'll play Michael Moore's Xmas cd!

Actually, DRFrancois, about a month ago, I posted that if anyone wanted a copy of my Christmas CD, they should PM me their address and I'd send them one.  No one responded!

I handed out a couple at Bruce's Dec. 6 reading, and I mailed a few to other DRs whose addresses I had.  If you'd like one, let me know.

I hope everyone is having a very nice Christmas Eve Evening.

I really enjoyed the Michael Ball concert--I think you can listen to anytime in the next 7 days which is GREAT!

Does anyone know what the problem with IE is when it won't let you sign onto E-bay or bring your bank page up or stuff like that?  I must have turned something on/off without meaning to and now I can't make certain web pages work for me.  Suggestions?

Hey, François de Paris they just said on the news that Santa is in Paris!

Everything is going well, kitchen-wise.  Now all I have to do is simmer and wait and wait and simmer because all my work preparing is through.  In about an hour and a half, I'll start the final stages of everything, and at six I start boiling the spaghetti noodles so that people can start stuffing themselves around six-forty.

The Christmas Song
(Torme-Wells)
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like eskimos

Everybody knows some tofu and some mistletoe
Help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight

They know that Santa's on his way
He's loaded lots of toys
And goodies on his sleigh
And every mother's child is gonna spy
To see if reindeer really know how to fly

And so, I'm offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two
Although its been said
Many times, many ways
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas to.. You!
