Vixmom good luck with the washing machine.  Have you tried using a hair dryer on the pipes?

its outside under 3 inches of snow and right now it's  10: 30 at night, pitch black, about 8 degrees, before you count in the wind chill factor....besides   ;) ain't that what husbands are for?

feeling delicate and helpless, need a big strong man to unclog my pipe........

Handy Man has come and gone.  He'll be back next week.  Fixing this floor problem will be a major ordeal, as he has to remove the dresser and the bed to do it.  He's promised me he'll come as early as possible and stay as late as possible to get it all done in one day - otherwise it will be the book room for me in terms of sleeping, and I REALLY don't want to do that.

Vixmom-LOL.  I was thinking the pipe was near the washing machine.  Gosh, hope those aren't heavy wet towels in there.

Goodnight.

Good Evening!

What a wonderful number of posts to come hot to after the show!

Tonight's show was a little strange.  It was a good show, but strange.  It was quite the giggly pit.  And it was also cold in the "pit" - which is not in the pit for this show, but on stage.

I think the whole "snow day" mentality was making everyone giddy.

Oh... And I actually managed to fall asleep tonight... While I was playing!  I suddendly heard a wrong note, and realized that I had nodded off for a sec while playing a melody line during one of the underscored scenes.  Hmmm...

Watching The Matchmaker.  If I were Jerry Herman and Michael Stewart I'd sue.  This thing is just like Hello, Dolly!

I had a lovely chat with our very own Tony Walton.  I wish was there to see the show he's directed, After the Ball by Noel Coward.

Alas, I just checked my lottery tickets, and I did not win tonight's jackpot...

And just remember - as another DR sort of pointed out - I didn't say HOW I would get all DRs to NYC.

Isn't Hello Dolly based on Thortnon Wilder's The Matchmaker?

Oh... I've actually "survived" a second - and most definitely last - day of fasting.  It wasn't a total fast, I had water and juice.  But still, I think my whole caloric intake for today and yesterday was still under 600 calories.  And I didn't really start craving "solid food" again until a few hours ago.  It's actually kind of neat.  And kind of scary.  I can actually see how someone could purposely starve themselves - it really is a case of mind of matter.

But tomorrow morning, I shall be break my fast with breakfast - most likely Irish Oatmeal and some fruit.  Oh, and I also plan to push play on the DVD player and start the first exercise routine on the new set of workout DVDs that finally arrived in the mail this past week.  One must be buff and svelte when making one's off-Broadway debut in a eight weeks!

-I figured the fast would help me start with a clean slate as it were.  So...  Before and after pictures to follow...

Maybe.

I just talked to DR Ann.  She asked me to thank one and all, all and one, for your thoughts and vibes and such.  All went just fine, and she's now lying in bed, feeling pretty lousy, and wishing the drugs were stronger.  When the doctors told her that the first 24 hours post-op are supposed to be the worst pain of the whole thing, they apparently weren't joking around.  She'll rejoin us here in a couple days, when she can do anything resembling reaching/stretching/moving-of-any-kind more easily.  If all else fails, she'll just ask her father to whack her upside the head with a frying pan to help her sleep it off. :D

Just returned from the movie theater where I watched BEYOND THE SEA.

Here is my opinion.

The good: The musical numbers, some of which were just like out of a Gene Kelly film! Kevin Spacey is a wonderful singer, and not a bad dancer. The costumes were great as were the sets...they did a fabulous job of capturing the various decades.

The bad: The constant foul language, which seemed most unnecessary. John Goodman (who just seemed out of place in this film).

All and all I was entertained, but probably would not watch the whole movie again...however, I would consider getting the DVD someday just to watch the musical numbers.

Hated the musical numbers, hated every minute of the film, and would never ever watch one frame of it again.  And that's what makes ye olde horse racing.

The Jacuzzi is taking forever to heat up - I'm hoping to be out there in a half-hour but it's not looking good.  The temperature of the water is only seventy-seven so far and I've had the heater going for a good half-hour.  I'm hoping it will move along at a faster clip now.
