BK, the show is Feb, 18th & 19th and it's an interesting array of folk...your pal Linda Purl will be there, my pal Ian Abercrombie, and one of my adored ones...Carol Cleveland, the girl in all the Monty Python sketches and films.

I see photographs, so apparently Mr. Mark Bakalor has purged us.

We have, alas, eaten all of the Saskaton Berry pie and I have a hankering for some...it may have to wait until we go to Canada in July. not a Saskatoon Berry to be found hereabouts.....

Oh, so it's not this weekend.  Fine, then we simply must go on the weekend it is.  Normally, it used to be at the beginning of Feb.  It'll be nice to see my pal Purl there - we love Linda.

I went to the pizza place to get lunch and a Cherry Coke. It was a long walk back to campus, so I finished the Cherry Coke before I got back. So I bought another one at the Quickie Mart. There's nothing weird about that, is there?

Rhetorics is about to start. But I'm OK because I am full of Cherry Coke.

Later!

I wonder why it is no longer at Miss Beverly Garland's hotel?  Perhaps she accused them of falling off a horse.

DR Sandra, on my trip to Taco Bell yesterday, I had a Cherry Pepsi in your honor, and I'm guessing to your delight, it was horrible.  There really isn't anything as exciting as Cherry Coke.  I prefer diet Cherry Coke, though, it's still yummy.

As for Raspberry's, EL Eric (who is a pastry chef) works at a bakery and tells me if they make something chocolate and put a raspberry on top, it sells and sells.  Something about fruit on a dessert makes people buy them like they were going out of style.  Maybe when they see fruit they think healthy?  Who knows!

LOL!

They say it was because the show outgrew Bev's hotel..but personally, I think it was because of the grumpy staff that worked the front desk!

Well, except for the exhorbitant price for parking; the new location is actually a better venue than the Garland...wider aisles, they can put everyone in one room except for the playmates

Oops!  My bad, and my apologies to DR DearReaderLaura for not identifying her as the real source of my inspiration for my "impersonation".

And, Thanks, to all DRs for your snow picture compliments.

For some reason a "room full of Playmates" is just wrong....wrong on so many levels.

How would Yvette Vickers know where to sit?  :o

Yes, Diane McBain had some slightly raunchy, yet tasteful (hmmm, can that happen?), nude photos taken in the 1960s.

Sadly, no such photos of her co-star Van Williams exist...that I am aware of, anyhow! LOL!

I was just on a roll.  A kaiser roll.  I just whipped through three more pages in minutes.  I love when that happens.  I think that's it for today (did eight pages) and I will leave for tomorrow the rather critical next few pages I'm approaching.

Well, I wondering what's going on with the Courts?  I just got a mailer from them about the upcoming show, announcing that they won't be sending out anymore mailers because of the "inefficiency and incompetency of our postal system" and, if one wants to be included on a mailing list to send them one's email.  Now that's fine, if they want to do that, but I've received this mailer well in advance of the next show, the information on it is more up-to-date and current than what is on their web-site, so I ask:  What inefficiency and incompetency of the post office.? If they want to save the price of postage, fine, but why must they try to excuse it by blaming the post office for things it is not guilty of? I hate these kinds of dodges and subterfuges.  Just admit the truth, you don't want to cut into your profit margin by using snail mail?

Also for the first time, they are having the show on FRIDAY and Saturday, instead of Saturday and Sunday. I think this could be a disaster!  It starts Friday at 12:00 and goes to 9:00 at night.  Now Friday afternoon rush hour starts at 3:00 in the afternoon in LA.  It could be a real slog trying to get to that show on a Friday afternoon.

BK, is that there is a Book Fair this weekend??

I haven't heard about a book fair but would love it if there was one.

Why on earth would they do Friday and Saturday.  I undestand Sunday is never like Saturday, but why would they think Friday would be better?  It's a work day for most folks.  Maybe it will be better, but it seems peculiar to me.

Just heard that the wonderful character actor John Vernon died.  He was excellent in Topaz and Dirty Harry, and was funny in Animal House.

Rodzinski's back!

But now I'm sad about John Vernon. He was great in "Point Blank" with Lee Marvin, one of his few sorta leading roles.

Another 70s gem with him was "Charley Varrick" with Matthau.

One good latter-day role in a film seen by maybe 17 people on earth, was in "Killer Klowns From Outer Space". He played the police chief and was v. funny. I watched it in a theatre in Atlanta with two other people in the place.

R.I.P. John Vernon!!!

If that's the film by the Chiodo boys, they live two blocks away from me, and one of them is married to my friend Margaret's sister.
