Thank you, DR Diane. I'm starting to get keyed up, of course, and it's silly because I've auditioned for this director many times, and whave worked with the music director many times. Should be more friendly instead of a time of tension, but it seems no matter how many times you have gone through auditions, one always feels those butterflies. At least, I do!

DR Emily: The Gershwin is HUGE. I have not sat in the back. But I don't think you'll like it.  I would wait till you get to NYC and get your tix then. You will get a much better selection. Just bring your PBOL discount codes (and any others you can find).

I'm trying to remember when and how I first met Bruce.
I'm thinking I read your posts on RATM and we started emailing?  I honestly don't know how many years ago that was.

I do know that the first time we met was in NYC, when you were recording the Stephen Sondheim album.  That was my first introduction to Joe Allen! :)

Do you think my favorite part of that trip was getting to interview Norm Lewis and swooning over him? (could anyone be nicer?) :)

The Gershwin is large by Broadway standards, but it is much smaller than many "road" theatres.  In fact I find that the sound is better in the middle or back of the Gershwin.  When I saw ON THE TOWN there I was in the 5th row and was overpowered by the sound, whereas further back I have never had problems.  If you will be here over the Christmas/NY holidays get whatever you can NOW because that is the one time of the year almost every show will sell out and there will be very few discount tickets available for any show.

My biggest problem if a designer wants to try something new is that they try to do things that can be easily undone. I would have rather she put the feathers on large boards, vs directly on the walls.

Although I hate it when I hear people who completely redo their rooms afterwards. Why bother going on the show?

I think Hildy often does amazing stuff. Yes she does do outrageous rooms. And I agree, sometimes she goes overboard. She should always try to do something the people will like. And who knows what will happen with the cardboard next week. Looks very strange!

Now where are Doug and Vern. I miss them!!!

Let's see...Of the collection of CDs der Brucer and I brought east with us, ten are Kimmel produced (including Das Barbecu and Play On (but not including Bed and Sofa  ::))).  And I fully believe that Barbara Cook would be better served if she would allow her next album to be a BK production.

Hmmm...I first became aware of Bruce Kimmel after I started buying CDs from a website that dare not speak its name (this was about 2 years ago, I guess?) and noticed that they were all produced by the same guy.  I later found HHW through a banner ad on ATC, and that was it.  I was hooked.  

I love all of the BK albums that I have, and look forward to buying more, including all of the Lost in Boston and Unsung Musicals series!  It is very hard to choose a favorite track, but let's go with the Primitive Man Medley on Sally Mayes' Our Private World album.

I don't think I've seen a lot of Paul Newman movies, so I shall withhold comment on this one.  I know, I know...I'm a bad movie fan.  

Ann--Never went to a camp in San Juan, though it does sound lovely, (if too darn hot)!  The only one I've ever been to was Camp Ballibay, a performing arts camp located near Camptown, PA, strangely enough!

Argh! I am SO frustrated. The local ABC affiliate decided to show the Carolina Panthers game last night instead of ALIAS, but they did schedule ALIAS for 2:05 in the morning. I dutifully set my recorder and cable box for the show in the wee small hours of the morning, and wouldn't you know the football game went into overtime, and I only got about 20 minutes of the show, one of the most important episodes of the season! I'll catch the rerun someday, and the next new episode will have a synopsis at the beginning of it, but it's SO frustrating to do everything right except plan for the unplannable.

Sorry DR MattH about your Alias woes. If you want me to send you the synopsis of last night's show I can. I actually watched it twice. It is on here at 7pm and then it was on again at 9pm on ABC. It was good. But what Sydney saw last week is not as important or significant as what they made it seem. Great ending last week though.

Forgot to comment on Paul Newman earlier... The Sting would probably top my list.  While I found Road to Perdition to have good performances, I felt it was incredibly slow moving, and seemed even longer than it already is.
