Ah, HHW. It's so nice to know that when I randomly have a free night, and I'm perusing the internet, this site will always be here. I also love that no matter how long it is between my visits (6 months, this break has been. Hoooooly crap.), there are still so many familiar usernames/pictures/personalities

.
My life, as I always update you on, has been ridiculously busy. I am currently 17 days away from high school graduation, and the moment cannot come fast enough! I'm SO ready to be out of here! I did love high school, and I have tons of great memories, but this past month has been pretty torturous.
Recap since *checks last post* December 15th

. The first weekend in January, I went to NYC with the Theatre Department of my school, where I was lucky enough to see The Light in the Piazza, Doubt, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and The Odd Couple. I was also lucky that I saw the last performance of Doubt with the original cast, and met them after the show- I know the production is old news, but I was beyond impressed, it went above and beyond any expectations I had held, and Cherry Jones is one of the sweetest and most fun women I've ever met.
The day we returned, we had auditions for our spring musical, The Secret Garden. I was very unfamiliar with the show, but auditioned anyway, and was lucky enough to be cast as Lily. That took us all the way to the weekend of March 30-April 2. I grew to love the show, not only because of how challenging and wonderful the story was, but because it was so refreshing to do something that nobody else had ever really done- our director was fantastic and we put it on brilliantly. The realization that it was my last production on that stage was a hard-hitting one, but I was very proud to have been in it.
The last couple months have been spent catching up on all sorts of homework, and basically enjoying my remaining time in high school. Prom was 3 weeks ago, and yes, I was on my best behavior, and went with a friend who I attended the Governor's School with last summer.
I also left my job at the Cafe that I had worked at for the past 2.5 years- the restaurant was going through a lot of changes, and I was becoming increasingly unhappy with the way things were being handled, as well as becoming bored with it all. Two and a half years is a long time to work in a restaurant, and once I was anything less than content with my work, I knew I had to leave. I waited until the musical had ended, and I started applying to various places in my area. I am now a proud employee of Borders Books and Music! And, ironically, I'm working in the cafe, although it's 100% different. I love love love working there (and I also love love love my 33% discount

, and I'm having a great time.
In the fall, I am going to be attending the Music School of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, which is also home to long lost DR Maya! I was accepted to Christopher Newport University, Mary Baldwin College, and Shenandoah University also, but decided that JMU was my best fit. I was unfortunately waitlisted from McGill (DR Emily's school), and not surprisingly denied from Curtis in Philly, a school which accepted ONE vocalist all year. JMU is a great undergrad school, and is far enough from my house that my parents won't be dropping in, but if I wish, I can go home to visit.
Other than all of this, I have no real news. Life is good, summer is allllllllllmost here! I don't know about where you are all located, but it is HOT in Northern Virginia, and I'm loving it!
Just as I always end my posts, I'm going to try very hard to keep reading HHW, but the Lord knows it'll be hard. Please please email me at
sarah@davishome.us, I'd love to hear from everyone.
