TThey're here from Phoenix and announced to us yesterday as we were heading back to the subway that it was their first time using an umbrella.

What is this thing of which you speak? Umbrella?

BK, give my regards to Malcolm, Christine, and any other of our friendly neighbourhood book-sellers you see, as well as the usual denizens of the fair like Bill Stout or Rudy Behlmer.

I personally think it's all of the ugly clothes that Eleanor Parker wore in THE SOUND OF MUSIC that sealed her fate.

Well, when one's favorite actresses appear to have been dressed by the costume designer for Minsky's burlesque, I guess Dorothy Jeakin's gowns would seem too...tame.

A steaming hot cup of French Roast coffee languishes on my desk while I type these words.

When the steam abates a bit, the languishing shall, too.

We seem to be embracing some weather extremes here.  It's either too cool for anything less than long-sleeved shirts, or it's too warm to breathe (when it gets warm like that, air flow is reversed with air blowing westward from interior climes, mostly from very hot areas).  One can feel the breath being sucked from one's lungs sometimes.

Thank goodness for Air Conditioning.

Let's call the whole thing off.

Good morning!

I got almost 9 hours of sleep last night, the most in many a year. Amazing.

A beautiful day here, if again too warm for my tastes this early in June. The cool spell they were predicting still hasn't arrived. Drat!

Due to the long sleep, I'm running behind this morning. Shortly I will have to leave to do my usual Friday errands.

Hmmm....I ought to take out THERE'S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS, too. I enjoyed RIVER OF NO RETURN so much that I need to watch another Marilyn widescreen film, and that one is SO colorful.

I know the major one.

I do!

Don't speak!

Let me.

No.  Don't speak!

It's the kitchen floor.

Yes?

No, Don't speak!

Is it mental languish perhaps?
