Gracie Allen was the Queen of the TOD....I shall have to consider some of the things she said.

Although NOT a malaprop.....I was watching Damsel In Distress the other day.  Gracie plays George's secretary.

She wandered in about noon and as she was taking off her hat, George said: "You should have been here two hours ago."

And Grace answered:  "Why, what happened?"

George: "If you can't get here on time, I'm gonna have to get another girl."

Gracie:  "Really?  Do you think there'll be enough work for the both of us?"

We ended up having about ten orders yesterday.  None waiting this morning, but the day is young which is more than I can say.  DakotaCelt has posted to the fan sites, and yes, Matt just did a fan event and gave out hundreds of flyers.  We only have about fifty signed copies left to reserve, so tell your friends, and perhaps DakotaCelt can post to some more Days' sites.

Good Morning!

Yes, it's still gray outside, and bit drizzly... But it's warm inside, the electricity is working and I can access HHW... Who could ask for anything more?

I also ended up having a sort of "comfort breakfast".  I had made a pot of brown rice earlier in the week - I always make more than I need so that I can have it later in the week - and decided to make some "breakfast fried rice", which is something my parents would regularly make on the weekends using the leftover rice from the night before.

So, I cooked up three slices of turkey bacon - very lean, very healthy.  Then after they were crisped up, I set them aside and added a splash of olive oil to the pan, then added some of the leftover brown rice to the pan.  -I was immediately "reminded" what happens when cold rice hits hot oil - love that sizzle and pop!  After the rice was heated through, I cracked two eggs on top, then just tossed it all lightly until the eggs were cooked through.  Some salt, some pepper...  Very yummy, very comforting.

-And I made a pot of a Mexican varietal coffee... Very good too.  I've never really been a regular coffee drinker, but I've been trying out various blends and roasts lately.  Been a nice exploration.

Well... Though not really a true malaprop...  Steve's mother could not remember what my ethnic background when she was talking with Steve...  "Isn't Jose a Flapapino?"

And although more along the lines of mis-pronunciation...  I've heard the closing line from "Broadway Baby" sung the following way at auditions...  Always makes me roll my eyes...

"Working for a nice man
Like a Ziegfeld
Or a WEEsman"

That reminds me of a Chevy Chase mispronunciation at the Academy Awards many years ago.

He was reading from some list that included the names of producers, and one of them, as Chevy pronounced it was "Samuel Gold-Wine Junior".

That elicited several groans from the audience.

Speaking of Chevy Chase, did everybody (but me) know that he was offered the lead in "American Beauty" before it went to Kevin Spacey?
