Just had a couple of "too many connections" and "socket" errors while trying to access the site...

No errors here - maybe there was a hiccup on the server.

Of course, if Jose wanted to be in LA at the end of the year, why, we might just have an offer for him.

Trying to get up the energy to jog at ten.

We actually had fifteen Deceit orders yesterday - now, if we can have that same number today that would be great.

Jose - what's next for you?  Have you decided?  Have you had offers?  Inquirng minds want to know.

...Everything and everybody seems to be in the planning stages... And everyone seems to be taking their time right now with the whole process.  Which is OK.  I'm not in any real hurry right now.  Yes, I would like to get something lined up - the sooner the better - but I am relishing the down time to get other things done.

I have a grand plan, too.

Only...the lottery commissions aren't cooperating.

We have gray overcast sky here today.

Outside, it's coolish.

Inside, it's muggyish.

I guess the humidity is up a bit....and the building's only processing "fresh" air right now...not HVAC.

Sigh.

You know, out of all the movies that have been discussed here, I cannot recall anyone ever discussing Jerry Lewis movies.

We've had some Jerry Lewis moments...some "Hey, LA-A-A-dy" kind of moments.

But...no mention I can recall of anyone having ordered any Jerry Lewis DVDs...or watched a Jerry Lewis movie...or....?

Yes, MR BK discussed BEYOND the VALLEY OF THE DOLLS (this is NOT a sequel, there has never been anything like it) last week.

Hmmm....I like THE LADIES MAN and THE NUTTY PROFESSOR.....

Hmm...  I think I recall mentioning Jerry Lewis' "Geisha Boy" at one time or another, many moons ago...

-Although, since he is planning on directing a musical version of "The Nutty Professor" on Broadway in 2008...  I guess we could talk about that if it ever comes to fruition.

-I would always seem to catch "Geisha Boy" whenever it was being shown on Channel 20, WDCA, in Washington, DC.  They would show it a lot - usually as part of a Jerry Lewis "festival" or part of a comedy block of movies on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Hmm.. I haven't seen it in years...  Hmm..

Hiya -

It's cloudy again today. Sheesh. Two beautiful days of blue skies and sun, and then at least 2 and probably more days of drizzle and overcast and (oh, Penny, bitch and moan!) and grey. (Let's whine a little, why don't we?)

Anyhow - the job I sent in my (gi-normous) application for back at the beginning of April... I got a call that my interview is June 27. And I have an even-more gi-normous presentation to make, in ten minutes of the hour-long meeting. Said presentation is: you have a 5-show season, and $200K to do it with. Pick 5 Broadway--style musicals, relevant to the area demographic. Explain: Which shows and why; and how do you budget the money?

I have tentatively begun to work out a season... but I am woefully unaware of smaller shows... as in, without large singer/dancer choruses. Recent seasons included small shows like Forever Plaid. Company. Got some ideas??? Please help me with this research!!!

How exciting, PennyO!  Where would this theater be located?  California, Washington, or other?

One little show that is always a crowd pleaser (or pleasurer as I originally wrote it): I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE.

I cannot recall "Geisha Boy" ever being a TV offering anywhere I've lived.  I have the soundtrack recording, though.

I've seen "Cinderfella" once and thought it quite fun.  I have seen most of the Martin-Lewis films, as well...and loved 'em as I recall.

The Lewis films of the early 60s are the ones I'm least familiar with.

Speaking of Chevy Chase, did everybody (but me) know that he was offered the lead in "American Beauty" before it went to Kevin Spacey?

Hmmm, Chevy in the shower scene..............

GEISHA BOY is my favorite Jerry Lewis movie...it was on tv a lot when I was a kid. Nobu Atsumi McCarthy was so pretty and Suzanne Pleshette looked so nice in her Airline Hostess uniform.

Oh, and that bunny! LOL!

I remember THE GEISHA BOY - but I think I've only seen parts of it.  I like Jerry Lewis when he is funny, but when he is maudlin or sappy.....well, it ain't working for me.

TOD:  Didn't Archie Bunker once explain that he couldn't be a witness because he was standing a certain way, and it ended with him saying "Position is nine-tenths of the law."  I've always liked that one.

Damn them!  Damn them all to Hell!

If this offer had come in two days ago, I would have said that I was being tempted by the anti-Christ.  However, I am being wooed (or woohooed) to play The Baker in THE BAKER'S WIFE in August.

Speaking of malapropisms, didn't Mrs. Malaprop say "My infection for you grows with each passing day" - or something like that?
