In her intermission interview spot she commented that the back-stage antics to get her from various exits to the next entrance added up to three miles of jogging per performance.

der Brucer

Yep, that whole backstage area is quite the obstacle course too.  Whenever an actor makes an exit downstage, in order to make the next entrance upstage, he/she has to walk through the orchestra pit area, through a short hallway, up a set of stairs, through another hallway...  And then if he/she has a costume change to deal with too during that time...

Otto hates the vacuum cleaner.  The other day we had him groomed and he had to be left in the presence of other schnauzers.  As a whole, he's not used to other dogs yet.  Upon our return to pick him up, (he looks fabulous now) we asked how he did with the other dogs.  The groomer said he was great after she gave him a spritz or two in the face with the water bottle and he began to behave.  We've adopted this tool as a disciipline tool and it's done wonders in the last four days.  Today, I vacuumed with Otto, who played with the vacuum cleaner (chase actually) instead of barking at it like it was a monster.  All that after one spray of water, amazing, we think.

...And, yes, there may be people who look down on actors and actresses who can't a do a full eight-show week, but I have to respect those actors and actresses who know their limits - physical and/or mental - and will only put themselves on stage when they are able to give that 110% to the show and to the audience.

And to play the Devil's Advocate as it were... Victoria Clark has now been with The Light in the Piazza for at least three years.  If she wants to take a show or two off each week...

OH...My apologies...

Victoria Clark plays Margaret Johnson.
Katie Clarke plays Clara.

I was adding "e"s left and right to both Clark's.  ;)

We used to use the same spritz bottle on Fletcher - until he decided that it was fun (a few times he even teased Woody and dashed away to get tracked down and spritzed). I wonder how a fire estinguisher would work :D

Are we to assume they are only paid for 6 performances a week?

In the play "Barefoot in the Park", Coriander husband Paul are the two main characters, IIRC.

Since he asked me to post that he'd written me again:  I got another missive from our favorite internet stalker, boredetector, in which he accused me of the following (which I posted on a chat board when someone mentioned The Tall Guy's spoof of The Elephant Man - I'd said that I'd done a musical spoof of The Elephant Man, also entitled Elephant! years before they had):

Congrats on taking credit for the musical version parody of Elephant Man!  Did you enjoy it in the movie "The Tall Guy" from two decades ago?  Ever wonder why you get so few bites to your "me me me" posts? Hmm.

p.s. Don't forget to discuss this this email in your next post about what you ate for lunch.

Unfortunately for our stalker, I had to point out the following:

The Tall Guy - shot and released in 1989

Likely Stories (the Showtime comedy series for which I shot my musical spoof of The Elephant Man) - shot and aired in 1983.

OOPS.

Now, what do we do about this stalker, aside from ignoring him.  I have the feeling he's so obsessed that he will keep e-mailing me.  I know WHERE he's e-mailing from, and I know there are things one can do, so should I do them or just ignore the missives?

Back from my morning break/walk....it's H-O-T out there in the sun, this morning...worked up a nice sweat.

Fortunately, this is casual Friday...am wearing a Hawaiian shirt...not tucked in...so there is air circulation.

I'd ignore him/them...he's obviously obsessed with you...he's not exactly exhibiting rational behavior.

He's your very own stalker, though....and he's probably a tad sexually obsessed with you, as well.

You might recommend he seek professional medical assistance...he seems terribly lithium deficient to be so obsessed with your every function.

I think you might consider posting him every time you have a bowel movement....excite him with the details.

He might leave you alone after a bit.

Well, she is a star, ya know.
